  1. The Christian Science Monitor was probably not the best source for this information.

According to the Washington Post, CNN, Politico, Yahoo News, Newsmax, and a White House Press Release - just to name a few sources - the Iftar Dinner was held last evening (8/10/11)

Israeli ambassador Michael Oren attended the annual White House dinner. Other guests included elected leaders, religious leaders in the Muslim American community, other leaders of diverse faiths and some 9/11 families.

The Iftar tradition was started by President Clinton and continued for eight years by President George W. Bush. This was Obama’s third Iftar dinner.
