Days-Old Infant Found Dead In Grocery Restroom

(CNN) -- Police in Hendersonville, North Carolina, said Tuesday they were interviewing a man and a woman in connection with the discovery of a days-old infant's body in a grocery store restroom.

The body of the newborn girl, who appeared to be 2 or 3 days old, was found Sunday by janitorial staff in a trash can in the women's restroom of a Bi-Lo grocery store, according to Hendersonville Police Capt. David Adams. It was not clear how long the baby had been dead, Adams said on Tuesday, and police were awaiting autopsy results.
