Breastfeeding Delta Passenger: Flight Attendant Publicly Humiliated Me

Earlier this week, a traveling mom who had just boarded a Delta flight from Indianapolis to Raleigh, NC, decided it was a good time to nurse her 8-month-old. A flight attendant didn't agree. You can imagine how this one goes from here.

  2. I think Mom is wrong. doing this in public, is not right. pump, use a bottle in public. do whatever you want at home or at a friend's, i don't care. but don't want to see your breast in public. my wife breastfed all of our children and always used a bottle in public. it wasn't like we didn't know our children didn't need to eat. just planned it out. 8 months! she knew how to be considerate to others but chose not to be. should've been kicked off.

  3. Something so basic. Amazing how some women view their own breast. I would have squirted milk on her.

  4. 245- your disgusting and obviously afraid and/or embarrassed by breasts. It is this type of social behavior that creates difficulty for a mother trying to feed her child.

  5. No reason she couldn't have covered herself up. Most of the time when I see women breast feeding I can only recognize what's going on because of the way the baby is being held, not because I can see any skin.

  6. Delta should be ashamed and so should the flight attendant. A mother feeding her baby in the most healthy way...we certainly can't have that. Those who suggest bottle feeding in public haven't been nursing mothers. While a bottle is good in a pinch, the mother needs to express milk because the breasts continue to produce. They will become engorged if the milk is not expressed.

  7. It doesn't take much for me to boycott a company. Delta just lost any future business from me. There is NOTHING wrong with breastfeeding in public. If you have a problem with it, you may want to seek out professional help.

  8. yeah! breastfeeding is perfectly natural! how dare they mention anything to this mom! in addition, sex is natural too! so no one better get ticked off if they see me screwing in public!

  10. If you are offended by a woman's breast than you should also be offended by a shirtless man in public. Get over yourselves.

  11. 2:45 Any man who's offended by breastfeeding is definetly a pansy who should probably stay out of public

  12. Okay for all those of you ragging on 2:45 he happens to be exactly right! USE...A....BOTTLE. Eureka! I, nor anyone else, should not have to see any woman's breast in public if we do not want to. DUH! 11:47 am by the way a shirtless man and a shirtless woman are two entirely different things and that is....ONE HAS BOOBS! And before you say anything, man boobs are not acceptable either. Big boned boys can keep their goodies under wraps also. The Mom was wrong. There are certain things that are for private only. 8:49 was exactly right too, sex is natural but that is (just like breastfeeding) something for public ONLY. And as far as breasts needing to get rid of milk, do as 2:45 says and prepare. Express before you get on the flight and you'll be fine. The least she could have done if she was in a pinch and needed to breastfeed was cover up. She was being a royal b*tch.

  14. Oh pppleeaaasssee Alex. You know you wish you had them. Take a trip to Europe people. We are so backwards here on this subject. Just because you naysayers have a tit fetish and want to drop a load on one, doesn't mean innocent mom and baby have to ruin their mealtime bonding. Jerks.
