Stocks are sinking at the open in New York, with the Dow, Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 all off by more than 2%. The selloff has been fueled in part by growing concerns that major economies around the world are close to recession. Tech stocks and financial names are particularly weak, the yield on the 10-year Treasury is down to 2.06%, oil is falling and gold is rallying. The Dow is off 300 points.
