As Buffett Renews Push For Billionaire's Tax, Critics Tell Him To Pay More Now

Super investor Warren Buffett and his political group, Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength, have renewed their push to pressure President Obama and Congress to raise federal taxes on Americans making $1 million or more.

But Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., a 2012 presidential contender, said she has a suggestion for Buffett:“Write a big check today,” she said Tuesday at a campaign rally in Spartanburg, S.C. “There’s nothing you have to wait for.”

  1. Write the check out to Obama and Friends. They will have no problem spending it. They are just waiting for it to come in. Hurry up Warren, times a wasting.

  2. yeah, tax the millionaires warren, but not the billionaires, correct?

billionaires can hide it, they have the resources. millionaire in california or NY are easier to tax.

  3. The "why don't he write a check" is a simple attepmt to distract instead of actually addressing the point Buffett brings up. Almost half of the 1.5 trillion budget deficits that the supercommittee is tasked to fill in over 10 years could be accomplished by raising taxes for millionaires back to preBush tax cut levels. The benefits to the nations' finances are clear, yet when you can't come up with a sound argument for not doing it, it's easier to throw out crud like "you write a check".

  4. Just write a big, fat check, Warren! Stop telling others what they should do with their money. If you choose to provide fuel for Obama's spending machine, just do it, but don't expect those of us with a brain to follow you over the cliff. Just like any other hypocritical, liberal fat cat, all talk, no follow-through.

...and don't forget to give your cash a big, fat, wet, sloppy kiss goodbye!!

  5. Warren has lost his mind. If he whishes to pay more just do it! This bum wants to increase the estate tax but I bet you all his wealth is in trust for his children already.

  6. If he is SO interested in paying more taxes, why does he continue to use the tax code to pay LESS?

I couldn't agree more. All they are doing is avoiding the real issue. Could Buffet write a check? Obviously yes... But what he's trying to do is make sure that enough people who can afford it are doing the same to really get this situation fixed. I can see if the poor are saying the rich should be taxed but this guy is one of the super rich and he's proposing it... Why do you all always have to find a problem with things? I think he knows better than us that they can afford it.
