OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Officials in a beach resort town on Maryland's Eastern Shore say hundreds of residents have ignored mandatory evacuation orders ahead of Irene.
Police in Ocean City said Saturday morning that some 300 of the city's 7,000 residents have stayed put. Some of those residents were making last minute preparations, such as moving cars to higher ground.

ReplyDeleteThe looters would be the problem and I hope those persons are armed; save the courts money.
ReplyDeleteI told the State Trooper to get off my property, I ain't going nowhere, and this is America, and I don't haveta.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to rethink that 1157AM. No storm is a waist of time to prepare for. Check in tomorrow to see if you think the same way!
ReplyDeletea "waist" is something you put a belt around.
ReplyDeletethe panic associated with this storm made for a massive waste of money. search "hurricane irene ocean city md" on youtube. my man has put up several videos from today including one with his feet in the ocean. nothing to evacuate over. local bureaucrats are just as big of clowns as the ones under the big top of washington. creating panic is a base form of socialism. get it through your heads people. people that panic are the people that die.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you not paying attention, Joe has reminded us several times this storm is nothing to worry about. I don't live in Ocean City, but I wouldn't have evacuated, either. Who are you going to believe, Joe -- who called all the blizzards correctly -- or some MSM loosers who's main job is to sell newspapers and TV advertisements?
ReplyDeleteSorry 304PM......picky picky!
ReplyDelete3:31, joe is not a prophet. this storm is going to kill people on delmarva. watch tommorow and see.
ReplyDelete3:58 - You are clearly a hater, so if you don't like Joe's blog, DON'T READ IT!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, I'm glad I have a good, UNBIASED news source which isn't run by someone just out to make a buck. Thanks, Joe!!!!!!
I agree with everyones rights to stay should they choose, just know emergency services will not be able to save you should such measures be required. I also noticed a lot of comments on this blog from early afternoon poking fun at the storm. I think those 'tudes will change around 8 or 9 pm.
