Chesapeake, VA - E. W. Jackson, Convener of, The Conservative Emergency Task Force (CETF), today announced Representative Allen West will be the guest speaker for the Tuesday, July 26, 2011 CETF Conference call.

Last week the CETF held the “CETF Debt Ceiling Tele-Summit to Engage Congress on the Debt Ceiling.” The speakers for Tele-Summit included:

  • Senator Rand Paul (R-KY)
  • Representative Scott Rigell (VA-02)
  • Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) and
  • Heritage Policy Expert Alison Fraser

The CETF is a strategic alliance of Tea Party, Patriot and Conservative groups from across the nation. The coalition has been meeting via a conference call every Tuesday at noon since the beginning of the year. The guest speakers alternate each week between conservative leaders from Capitol Hill and think-tank scholars from Washington, D.C.

The CETF Debt Ceiling Tele-Summit was a follow-up to an in-person event in Washington, D.C. held in March of this year. “Our first Summit last spring was very productive. We were incredibly fortunate to have the support from so many elected officials. One of the most important aspects of the Summit was our ability to engage with lawmakers to discuss our concerns,” said Jackson.

The March summit drew high profile leaders from Capitol Hill and was attended by leaders of conservative groups and organizations from across the nation. Speakers included Senator Rand Paul, Representatives Forbes, Gohmert, Jordan, King, Pence, Rigell and West as well as Gov. Gilmore, Frank Gaffney and a number of others in conservative and Tea Party leadership.

“Due to the tremendous positive response to our first Summit, we organized a second Summit,” Jackson said, “The main message of the CETF is to demand that Congress curb their out-of-control spending, stop raising taxes on the American people, stop ignoring the Constitution, and bring the government within its Constitutional limits.”

“Concerned citizen groups from across the country believe that the first and most important step in rescuing our country from this fiscal and economic emergency is that Congress must not raise the debt ceiling,” Jackson stated.

“Our economy is sluggish; unemployment is over 9%; gas and food prices are skyrocketing; and America is broke. We cannot allow Congress - or the President - to march us off the cliff. Our country is in very deep trouble and it requires all Americans to stand together to bring us out of our present fiscal crisis. We will strongly support those Representatives who stand with us to lead the fight in Congress. We are honored to have Rep. Allen West as our next guest speaker.”

Concerned citizens, grassroots leaders, and elected officials are all welcome to join the CETF Conference call every Tuesday, at Noon Eastern Time by dialing (760) 569 7676 (Code 153279 #). Participants will be allowed to ask questions during question and answer periods.
