Sheriff Targets Disabled Parking Spots

EDGEWOOD, Md. - The Harford County Sheriff's Office has conducted a disable parking awareness detail in Edgewood and Joppa retail parking lots.

People with disabilities face challenges every day, not the least of which is finding parking when they need it.
For those with disabilities, the use of handicapped parking spaces, is not a luxury, but a necessity. Every day motorist with disabilities can't find parking spaces because non-disabled people use these spaces as a means of convenience.

  1. Must not be any drug dealing or armed robberies going on in edgewood. Or maybe the police just need a bit more money.

  3. I think it's a great idea to do this. Look at Pecan Square as an example. The fire lane is always full of people who park there , there aren't any legal handicap spots. The money the state could make at this shopping center would be a blessing.
All over salisbury the same thing.
And , yes we have enough police to give this attention.

  4. These special privledge parking spots need to be eliminated!
What happend to "Equal protection under the law"?
When you create special privledges for one group or another, you are just dividing the country.

Although this article is about handicap parking I agree that the Fire Lanes need to be enforced all over Salisbury. The police officers and firefighters are to lazy to get out and issue citations.

What?! Truly handicapped people have enough of a struggle doing their daily tasks without adding more to make it worse.

They were designed for a reason. Have a little compassion.

I don't know if they have them around this area but in Washington State I have seen parking spots reserved for pregnant women.

Not many people do it but it is healthier to park further away from the door and to walk more.

The more one does it the more conditioned one becomes and it gets easier after a little time.

Try it, you might like it. :)
