Grandma’s crab dip may rival all others in your mind. But is it worth $1,000?
Phillips Foods will give you the chance to find out. The Baltimore company just launched “The Ultimate Crab Challenge,” a national recipe contest for crab lovers. The competition, which runs through Aug. 22, enables people to submit their favorite crab recipes online at www.UltimateCrabChallenge.com. The national grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and have the recipe featured on the menu at Phillips Seafood Phillips Seafood
Here are the rules:
Original recipes must include at least eight ounces or one pound of crab meat. Any grade of crab meat is acceptable, from claw meat to special, jumbo lump to backfin. Recipes may be a cold or hot item.

Does this mean that they are giving up on THEIR recipe? Google will give you lots of recipes. Just stay away from those that are not "Maryland Style" -- they suck (in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteFor soup though, I own the recipe for Fenwick Island Cream of Crab soup and many have enjoyed it as my guest. There's nothing better.... period!
Just make sure the recipt is patent for the winner. You would not want this company making million of dollars thereafter off your $1000.00 dollar winning recipt.
ReplyDeletehaha...you think Phillips' will actual stick to quality ingredients? They'll figure out how to cheapen it down, to the point only moronic tourists will go to their restaurants(oh wait, that's already company M.O.). I look forward to the day that company suffers a slow and painful death. Don't get me wrong, I liked working there when I did for a summer. Good, hardworking people from management on down. The reason they're not a restaurant I frequent is completely based on the quality of ingredients.
ReplyDeleteFirst you have to start with good crabmeat which is becomming hard to find. Any ideas on where some? The kind from Asia just doesn't cut it.
