Residents Raising Chickens In Urban Settings

BALTIMORE -- That indeed was a chicken crossing the road -- or your neighbor's back yard.


Raising chickens in cities has become a nationwide phenomenon that has landed in Baltimore.

In southwest Baltimore, Goldie and Chickapea have free reign of Daniel van Allen's back yard.

"The chickens adopted me," van Allen said.


Van Allen said Chickapea and three other chickens were roaming the neighborhood before he moved in.
