BERLIN, MD - In mid-August, people are expected to be sampling brews at Burley Oak Brewery in Berlin.
Brewery owner Bryan Brushmiller is planning to open the business Aug. 12, after months of work.
“It’s been a long process,” he said Thursday, one day after getting approval for a beer license. “The town’s been very helpful and the county’s been great.”
“The town of Berlin is very excited about this,” said William E. Esham Jr., chairman of the Board of License Commissioners, during the board’s Wednesday meeting in Snow Hill.
The board granted Brushmiller’s request for an alcoholic beverage license allowing him to sell beer seven days a week.
“I’m pleased to tell you that this is the first time an application like this has ever been before you,” Joe Moore, Brushmiller’s attorney, told the board.
Moore presented the board with a letter of support for the brewery written by Tony Carson, Berlin’s town administrator.
are joe and GA going to be at the grand opening? I'd love to share a brew with them. Like Obama did with the cop and colored professor. Please let me know.
