The description of the locomotive is wrong, it should read EMD GP40-2. GMC is the truck division of General Motors. EMD (Electro Motive Division) was the division of General Motors that made railroad locomotives.
The EMD GP40-2 has a 3,000 hp turbocharger two-stroke V16 diesel engine in it. Each cylinder displaces 645 ci The roughly 350,000 lb locomotive rides on two 2 axle trucks and were manufactured from 1972 - 1086.
EMD is now Electro-Motive Diesel, Inc and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar.
