Today's Survey Question

Should same-sex marriage be legal?

45 comments:

  1. no. Marriage is a bonding of hearts and a pursuit of happiness. That puts it in the none of the government's business category.

  2. Government should not be involved in the marriage issue. Marriage is the joining of two people according to their faith or beliefs. A marriage certificate could be issued from the person officiating the ceremony.

  3. Yep. Who cares? Nobody's business but theirs.

How about these politicians on both sides worry about jobs instead?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Absolutely not! Marriage is between a man and a women, with same sex marriage it is just one more reason why this country is going down the tubes.

  5. Yes. Everyone should be afforded the right to enjoy "Marital Bliss". Our gov't shouldn't have a hand in defining the "sanctity" of marriage, our gov't should only be involved on how it effects taxation/benefits. Hell, I find it laughable our gov't dabbles in labeling things sanctimonious.

  6. There is no such thing a "same sex marriage".

    It is a misnomer.

  7. No, the cost will now increase on business in that more people will be on family insurance coverage. Next people will argue that it is their civil right to marry their pet or something more ridiculous. Where does it end? Look at the great civilizations in history like the Greeks and Romans and see that their downfall was when they lost their way morally and that is where we are headed.

  8. Enjoy it now, because when the Chinese take over, they aren't going to allow it.

  9. Yes, It's a personal choice! I have been married for 19 yrs, and and if the vote came to the table, My whole family would vote for this. It's none of our business.

    ReplyDelete
  10. No! Marriage is Adam & Eve, not Adam and Steve!

    ReplyDelete
  11. No, to it being called a marriage. If they want to have the same rights as those that are married that is fine but is should NOT be called a marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1:06 has is correct!

Same sex marriage is an oxymoron

You can't "Marry" parts that don't fit together.

  13. It's a mental illness NO!

  14. To conquer a nation and its people, you need only to change its social order, discredit its institutions, reinterpret its laws and rewrite its history. With this accomplished, its culture is destroyed, and its people conquered.

  15. Ditto to 12:01 I agree!!!! Country is going to hell!!!! What a shame!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1:40 so if you can't marry two parts that don't fit together we shouldn't call any marriage a marriage until the couple dies married. Obviously, if 50% of the people are getting divorced they didn't "fit together". So until they can prove they "fit together" forever we can't call it marriage.

  17. it doesnt really matter to me i dont support it but they should have the right to if they so do chose.however what i believe is wrong is educators and certain parties who make our children believe this is ok and acceptable.also i dont believe they should be allowed to adopt children especially young children this could be very confusing for the child and possibly cause problems as the child gets older.

  18. wow; great, thoughtful comments for the sanctity of marriage. good sign. unfortunately more and more people are accepting this perversion. just remember; what God creates (marriage between a man and a woman) satan will always have a counterfiet. don't be decieved; God is not mocked.

  19. I was against it but Lynn is hot so I'm changing my mind...lol

  20. Should it be legal is the question not is it right with the lord... I do not think this is something that the government should be involved with....as long as my kid can't say the Lords Prayer in public school...It is an issue between church and state as far as I am concerned...So the government should stay out of it!!

  21. What would be next? Marriage to your dog?

    ReplyDelete
  22. NO, NO, NO, NO.... Stop letting 10% of country dictate the 90% of us.

    ReplyDelete
  23. God's word defines marriage. Most male and female partners don't even wed these days. They're all living in sin, even liars, according to God. But there are always consequences for sins and God's judgment will come. Wake up and look around the world!

  24. King James Bible
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination"

So, my answer is yes, gay marriage should be allowed... IN HELL!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I say yes. My hubby and I know and have many " gay " friends and all of them work 40 + a week, pay their taxes and are NOT on any welfare programs. If I was walking down the street with any of them and I was mugged, I know that any of them would do whatever it took to protect me.

  26. 5:40 It will do nothing but open the door to all kinds of law suits. Once you pervert the definition of marriage who's to say someone could marry your dog.

    ReplyDelete
  27. yes of course. the state has no hand in this. it is about committment not law.

  28. I had to rip most of a dead bait fish out of my dog's mouth today at the boat ramp, kiss him if you want to. Let's not confuse God with the bible, man wrote the bible.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Give 'em all the same rights....just don't call it marriage!

  30. 1:31- I knew someone idiot would bring up the Adam and Steve thing and think he was original and funny- that line is older than time itself. 1:57- ah it's Mr. Mental Illness again with the 1950's outlook on homosexuality. You have a mental illness! Stare at this spinning pinwheel and be cured! Finally, Ali- marry a dog? Really? You sure do come up with a lot of stupid comments on this blog. Are you in middle school or something?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Let's not confuse God with the bible, man wrote the bible.

You are already confused. The bible was written by man as he was inspired by God to do so. The ten commandments were written by the finger of God Himself.

If you believe the bible, you have to believe God, and vice versa.

  32. "marry a dog? Really? You sure do come up with a lot of stupid comments on this blog. Are you in middle school or something?"

You really don't need to envy me but, if you do, I can understand why.

Congratulations! I thought I had heard all of the usual BS but you brought a new sample to us.

You should be proud. You are the number one idiot so far.

  34. NO! We are going the way of the Roman Empire and, like them, will soon be gone.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No. the homosexual lifestyle is so far off base. this is not a genetic or 'i was born the wrong sex' thing. GOD made a person male or female and that is what HE intended for each individual. each family household is to be dad, mom, and children; GOD never intended anything less. HE did rid the early world of Sodom and Gomorrah for their sinful ways and HE can do it again.

  36. lets think about what gays get out of this...

1.) a title. they are "married"

2.) a name change. the more butch one is the surname i guess.

    3.) tax breaks.

my proposal, get rid of tax breaks for all married couples and they have nothing to go for. being married under God (it IS "holy matrimony" after all) is a religious intstiution!

  37. I have no problem with gay marriage.

  38. Lets look at this through what has been said and you'll see some interesting things here:
First, (on both sides of the coin) If Man wrote the bible and not to be trusted, then how can you trust the Man to carry the word of God! If his word has been handed down for centuries, then the word must be as good as the bible, Right? Just common thought. ok, for the religious people out there, you can claim anything you want, because the bible say's so, well the bible was written so each person interprets it to fit his/ her life's own meaning. for the rest of you Homophobes, it's not catchy, and won't bite you.
Wake up people, you say I don't want my kids seeing it? Well now you better check your private schools and public schools, because it's pretty much a fad to be bi as a teenager, (Wow, now mom and dad need to watch there daughter)! Kids are learning tolerance with all aspects of life and let me ask this?
A woman who is in love with another woman and has been with that woman for 25-30 years, does she have the right to be at her bedside when her partner dies? Answer that No, and you are a real cruel person, and should not be on the face of this world. All belief's are based on Love and Compassion at the very least, and a "civil union", "Marriage" would take this problem away, as well as other legal problems.
So for the "Christians" out there, who are you to judge, and what is your Faith based on?
As far as the dog thing? Just a "Good Ole Bunkie" showin his Real Red Neck, because he wants to come out of the closet!!
Now Back to Our Regular Scheduled Program!!!
    Have fun with this post!

  39. Only for atheist liberals who want to live their lifes as freaks!! Ah, to think back to the days when men were men, not sissified, whiny gay boys! And don't put up a post saying gay men are still men, that's an impossible feat and the true meaning of an oxymoron! To 'Lynn', it'll be fifferent when your son comes home with his boyfriend, then we'll see how you really feel! Just like most 'have to be equal' crybabies out there, it's got to be fair for everyone...as long as it doesn't affect them!

  40. To 1:36
I have 3 daughters and one of which is gay. She works at a hospital near you and probably makes a whole lot more than you. She is a very good daughter and goes out with her sisters and has a blast. Also many of the gay's I know are very much christian and follow there faith more so then half of the congregations out here. Remember, for every 10 people in a church, 4 or more are either gay, Bi, or in the closet.
Now mister macho,...... Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. need to look around you and at least 3 people you know are gay!
    LOL

  42. Lets look at this through what has been said and you'll see some interesting things here:
First, (on both sides of the coin) If Man wrote the bible and not to be trusted, then how can you trust the Man to carry the word of God!

He was inspired by God to write what he/they wrote.

If God trusted him, why shouldn't we? Do we know his heart better than God?

If his word has been handed down for centuries, then the word must be as good as the bible, Right?

If was written. Ever hear of the Dead Sea Scrolls?

well the bible was written so each person interprets it to fit his/ her life's own meaning

No, again it was inspired by God.

A woman who is in love with another woman and has been with that woman for 25-30 years, does she have the right to be at her bedside when her partner dies?

I think so yes, and that goes for a gay man as well. If they have been together for that long, the surviving person should have a say in burial arrainments, should get benefits and anything else a straight 'spouse' would receive.

So for the "Christians" out there, who are you to judge, and what is your Faith based on?

Contrary to popular opinions, we are allowed to judge. Just not every Tom, Dick and Harry. They have to be exceptionally faithful persons and without reproach, and with what terms they do judge the same shall be applied to them. Hence the saying, 'Judge not lest you be judged'.

Now I think I have had enough 'fun' with your post. Have a pleasant evening.

  43. A perfect example, the way kids turn out all comes down to how they're raised. Raise them with heathen teachings and they'll become a heathen!
