SWAT Team Breaks Down Door, Detains Man For Wife’s Defaulted Student Loans

STOCKTON, CA - Kenneth Wright does not have a criminal record and he had no reason to believe a S.W.A.T team would be breaking down his door at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
"I look out of my window and I see 15 police officers," Wright said.
Wright came downstairs in his boxer shorts as a S.W.A.T team barged through his front door. Wright said an officer grabbed him by the neck and led him outside on his front lawn.
"He had his knee on my back and I had no idea why they were there," Wright said.
According to Wright, officers also woke his three young children ages 3, 7, and 11 and put them in a Stockton police patrol car with him. Officers then searched his house.

  1. And who's behind ALL Student Loans, our very own Federal Government.

    Look out America!

  3. Where are all those self-righteous do no wrong, goose stepping citizens who think that if "you're not doing anything wrong, then you don't have anything to worry about"? Fifteen SWAT officers for a student loan? And these armed government agents take a citizen (who, remember, was not guilty of a crime, or even CHARGED with a crime) out of his house (in front of his neighbors and children) in his underwear. A SWAT team? I guess they "got their swagger back" on this one. They barged through his front door, too? Knocking wasn't an option? Or maybe even just a couple of deputies? SEIG HEIL!!!!

  4. Pay your bills , the free ride is over.
If this is what it takes , then so be it. I'm tired and the country is tired of people like this on a free ride.
I obey the law and do the right thing. I don't have to worry about this.

  5. Reminds me of the police crew that broke in on granny based solely off an informants bad intel down in GA. Granny busted a few shots in them coming through the door though thinking they were robbers. lol

  6. These people , if they don't pay their loans , are stealing from me and you.
Sorry about the door and his underwear. Fork over the cash and get on your merry way.
Wonder if he works , maybe on food stamps and welfare.
Nice house anyway , did we buy it for him?

  7. Hey 5:56pm
Question? Did granny make it , I don't think so , any officer would have emptied their weapon on granny or whoever. Anyway ,I find your comment very hard to believe.

  9. No knock warrants are for dangerous criminals!!! Are you that freakin stupid to think that this ok? Maybe you would like to go back to Old English times and re-institute debtors prisons. Last year there were 4mill. foreclosures, this year they are projecting to be 15mill. Do you really want all of those people in jail, and then have to deal with the bureaucracy that will have to be built to deal with their children? By the way the warrant was served on SUNDAY! Most people consider that a day off.

  10. Mark Twain said Common sense ain't too commonJune 8, 2011 at 8:56 PM

I think the Use Of Force to gain entry was a bit Dramatic.

Of Course common sense should have been used but Mark Twain stated the following about Common sense:
"Common sense ain't too common" and that applies in this incident!

  11. THIS is why the department of education issued an RFP for new 12 guage pump shotguns. Now it is clearer. In no world should any department of education have a need for a swat team and riot guns.

  12. To those idiots who are saying "pay your bills" did you even bother to read the text of the story?

They busted down the door of the WRONG GUY'S HOUSE!!!

How would you like a SWAT team to come bust down your door over someone else's mis-deeds??

There are lot of indicators that the country is going to hell in a handbasket -- all you have to do is look around at what is happening!

  13. Hmmm, he must not be an illegal immigrant. That would never have happened if that were the case. Feel sorry for him and his kids.

  14. STUFF like this all boils down to a police state and HAS GOT TO BE STOPPED! They might owe money but there is no reason to tear the door down and detain an innocent man.
Why not try knocking it sounds like they had plenty of cops to catch anyone who ran.
I'm in business for myself and if I collected like that they'd lock me up. So why is it the police get away with it. For all of the idiots who say collecting debt that way is fine with them just wait till it happens to you then you'd be crying FOUL. What has happened to the rights of an individual as protected by our constitution?

  15. Police have gotten out of control. Too many stories of illegal activity, raping, drugs, shootings, theft, DUI's. Never seen a day so many so-called law enforcement officers are law breaker criminals. They used to be even tempered, upstanding citizens. Now, way too many are big mouthed, arrogant at the least and the worst --- common criminals. Sad state of affairs.

  16. "They busted down the door of the WRONG GUY'S HOUSE!!!" - Daddio

His wife lived in the house with him. His wife owed money. If you live with crooks then you might get raided too. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. PAY YOUR BILLS!

  17. Dingo, apparently you can't read very well. The article said his wife was estranged. One dictionary defines the term thus:

No longer living with their spouse. That means they were separated, and she did not live there!!

  18. She must have been living there recently, he has a picture of her right on his damn wall! We are supposed to take his word for it? Trust me, there is more to this story but the feds can't talk about it yet until the case is resolved. They don't deploy SWAT without good reason. Mark my words: this family is doing something highly illegal. It will come out in the days to come. Right now this guy owns the air. Not for long. Don't be so paranoid.

    :o)

  19. I'm quite sure somehow Wic Soc Services was involved.
Totally incompetent and don't care what you think. Acting on old bad info. Don't listen. Just another Gov agency full of power and only really worried about their 360 personal days a yr to take.

  20. 6:34, you're an idiot. Take two seconds to google it yourself then. Granny was shot and killed after plugging the first two cops (nonfatally)coming through the door. Sorry about granny but serves the cops right for doing shady police work.

  21. So, where are all the Nancy Pelosi supporting liberals now? California, the most liberal state in the union, using Gestapo tactics and none of the libs have a word to say.

The Dept of Ed uses the last address used on tax forms. Maybe the woman lived with him at that time and they have since separated, has that been considered? It appears Stockton police were just flexing their muscles under protection of a federal warrant they were serving.

Anon 6:10, you obviously are a racist pig. Because he's black he can't own a home, have a job or be responsible enough to pay his bills? The student loan is NOT his bill. Did we buy the house you are living in or the food you are eating? You and others like you, make me ill.

  22. good for the swat team! start getting this money back! maybe thisll teach people to stop running up their debt all the time.....especially with no plans to ever pay it back!
