Santorum the Agitator?

Chris Cillizza argues that former PA Senator Rick Santorum has role to play in the race for the 2012 GOP Presidential nod.  That role?  Agitator.

I’m not so sure.  Everyone wants to point back to Santorum’s 2006 Senate defeat.  However, prior to that Santorum was considered a star among movement conservatives.  2006 wasn’t a disaster for the GOP, it was a tsunami of unreal proportion.  While I am not a Santorum booster, it would be wrong to underestimate his appeal among the people who will actually cast votes at the nominating convention.
