Salisbury News Is Now A Proud Member Of The Salisbury Chamber of Commerce

Salisbury News is proud to announce we have been accepted as a new Member of the Salisbury chapter of the Chamber of Commerce.

Networking with such organizations brings us one step closer to our strong beliefs in Paying It Forward as well as participating in giving back to our community.

Being a Member will allow us to exclusive Members Only Meetings with different Candidates running for Office and or dignitaries sharing important messages and information that effect our area of America.

Most importantly, we look forward to other Members getting to know who we truly are and our personal quest to make a positive difference in Salisbury, Maryland.

  1. Good. Now maybe you can get that organization to do something, like promote economic development in Salisbury. From the outside, all we see is drinking and networking.

  4. Joe - My advice to you is to not accept any alcoholic beverages while attending any of their 'shin-digs' - as I will explain.

While attending one of their functions - a few of the other associate chamber members tried to solicit my business by buying me drinks. Before I realized it - I had (5) alcoholic beverages surrounding my plate and I had not even finished my first one.

    Bottom line - BE CAREFUL!

  6. Just a quick question here.I myself and i'm sure others would like to know this. Is sby news a non profit organization or just a business like pohanka paying it forward ?

  7. Anybody can join, as long as you pay the fee. It's not like you were invited.

  9. 9:39 just told you why I did not join the chamber for my business.

  10. It is my understanding you have to be sponsored by someone in the Chamber to be accepted.

For those of you not members of the Chamber, do tell us what YOU are doing to help your community. Oh, make sure you act like real men and use your name too, so every one knows you aren't feeding every one here a load of crap.

My guess, JT is makinging the majority of negative comments here and hiding behind anonymous. In fact, I wouldn't surprise me one bit if he isn't using anonymous back and forth talking to himself. He's that mental.

  11. Isn't it true that the C of C and its big dog Brad had a hand in the success (as candidates) of the Dream Team and Louweasel Smith
in Salisbury and in getting Ron Alessi on the ballot a few years back?

  12. This affiliation with business buffoons (not tycoons) can only reduce your independent voice -- resign now!

  13. You people are all over the place.
Here's the real story...the Chamber supports businesses by having a central venue for cross promoting and networking among the businesses in the area, hence the name chamber of COMMERCE. Since sbynews is and has been a local business and they are willing to pay the dues, WELCOME TO THEM.
In my opinion, sbynews has done more to change the local climate of Salisbury than any other single force, at least in the last two or three years. Bravo!
Agree or disagree, at least now you have a place to go to find out what's what in the area now.

  15. It was good to see you at the Pohanka event Joe, as you said it is a good ol boys network and won't be changed overnight.

Do me a favor and try to not get sucked in by the cliques.

  16. Since you live in Delmar, are you a member of the Delmar Chamber of Commerce as well? They give back to the Delmar community.

  17. anonymous 12:41, I "live" in Delmar. We are Salisbury News, not Delmar News.

I'll add, I do NOT live in the City Limits of Delmar.

In closing, we do most of our local reporting about Salisbury. Fortunately, Delmar has a Town Council that is in harmony. With all due respect, going to a council meeting there is as boring as watching paint dry.
