The Salisbury City Council voted this evening to postpone consideration of “The Bricks” pending information from both the administration and City Attorney Paul Wilber.
The council also did not accept a grant from the state for “Disproportionate Minority Youth”. The 2 – 2 (councilwoman Debbie Campbell was out of town on business) vote was primarily due to questions regarding the city’s long term financial obligation under this grant.
More to follow Tuesday Morning.
Two good votes! It still boggles the mind that there would even be consideration to spending a million and a half on "The Bricks" for "affordable" housing. I don't care where the money comes from; ultimately, it comes from us.
ReplyDeleteKudos to the Council -- both items!
ReplyDeleteStandby for another eruption at Mt. Ireton!!!
Why does government want to be in the rental business?
ReplyDeleteAny council member that supports and votes for spending addition money on this ghetto project will pay dearly in the next election. That is a promise from the tax paying votes!
ReplyDeleteWe finally have a council that thinks like the working class! And I thank you.
