Rep. Andy Harris Opposes Massive Susquehanna River Toll Hike

Perryville, MD – Today, Rep. Andy Harris joined Maryland State Senators Nancy Jacobs, E.J. Pipkin and Harford County Executive David Craig to oppose the massive 620% increase at the Hatem River Bridge and other toll hikes that will hurt Maryland families, businesses and job creators.
“I oppose the O’Malley toll hikes because they will destroy jobs and disproportionately hurt rural and suburban Maryland families”, said Rep. Andy Harris. “The State of Maryland does not have a revenue problem - it has a spending problem.”
The State of Maryland is proposing drastic toll increases, including:
·         $5.50 per trip hike on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
·         $2 per trip hikes for the Harbor and Fort McHenry Tunnels
·          $2 per trip increase for John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway
The $210 million tax hike comes at a time when Maryland families and job creators can afford it least.

  1. I have to say, if Andy Harris is indeed truly adamant about his stance on the tax hikes that O'malley has proposed then I have to stand with Harris... As he states this will hurt all of us in Maryland... Why can't people see what Andy see's? I won't spend money if all of it has to go to bills and taxes and tolls and other needles crap... Period!!! which means if everyone else feels the same, then how can this help the economy? everyone wants a short fast solution but there is none... Period!!! There is a spending problem just like Andy Said, but no one can or will or wants to understand or realize that and so they say the solution is to tax and toll and to raise the limit at which you retire so you will more than likely be dead so you can't get your money they take for 60 years... Which is also complete and udder crap...

--I don't care, if the world is going to end, shit we have to die anyway.. period!!!

--I don't care if someone wants and is currently working towards a "ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT" (which is what their doing)

-- I don't care if the dems or reps are trying to take over the world...

I just wish it would happen already so we can finally start working to get on the right track... I am tired of being broke, I am tired of people telling me what is best for me and they know nothing of me... I am tired of paying taxes and other fees that go to something I don't need or use or no one I know even needs or uses... Why can't we just get over it and work to fix this country? I wish someone would start a revolution and not some piece of shit group called the tea party... When even the official leaders of tea party are either retards or in the same spot as the ones who are destroying our country...

I also what to know, after all them rich losers out there finally get all the money and the world and then because they step on peoples backs and stole, lied, and cheated to get it, and when its worth diddly squat what are you going to do with billions of dollars that isn't worth wiping your butt with? is it all worth it then?

  2. Why is Andy wasting his time on state's issues? He is no longer a state senator. I beleive he is using this to make noise and make noise only. It is much easier to yell about others faults than to solve the problems he has on his own plate. JOBS, ENERGY, A FEW WARS, DEFICIT! Don't you have anything to work on yourself Dr. Harris? If we could get energy prices under control, and Dr. Harris sits on that committee, maybe bridge toll hikes wouldnt seem so obnoxious! He should stick his nose into his own business.

  3. "Why is Andy wasting his time on state's issues?"

Because people like you are NOT. You keep putting the liberal idiots back in office, the economy continues to plunge, and jobs continue to decline.

How about telling us what YOU are doing about the State issues?

    (Silence) Thought so....

  4. Andy Harris was elected to the federal government. Why isn't he working on federal issues? State business is not his job. What is he doing about jobs?

  5. Hey Drew! What is anybody you support DOING ABOUT JOBS? Are YOU a government employee?

    (Silence again) Thought so...

  6. Here is a classic example of what got Wicomico County in trouble and introduced the revenue cap. Had the State of Maryland raised the Chesapeake Bridge toll only by 25-cents every four years since that bridge was built, the toll today would be above the proposed $5.50 and no one would have complained.
