New Castle Area Man Charged With PCP Possession

A 28-year-old New Castle area man faces drug charges after he was allegedly found with PCP while parked outside a New Castle business, police said today.

Tony Clark, of the 100 block of Parma Ave., was charged with possession of PCP and tampering with evidence and was committed to the Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $2,500 secured bond.

An officer spotted a suspicious vehicle at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Lukoil gas station at Del. 273 and Del. 141, said New Castle City police spokesman Lt. Adam Brams.

The gas station was closed at the time.

As the officer approached the vehicle, he saw a passenger, later identified as Clark, shove something down his pants.

The officer tried to stop him, and Clark poured the substance on his lap, Brams said.

A subsequent search of Clark yielded a small glass jar containing PCP, he said.
