No, I quit watching a few years ago. She seemed to keep having celebrity guests on instead of the good everyday people with stories to tell. I don't give much thought about celebrities stories.
LOL, "useless"? This woman generates more commerce in a month than you will your entire life. Idiots like you, who get so caught up in politics that you choose to dehumanize your fellow americans, are what is tearing this country apart.
Even though she can be generous to her fans a bit, I can not stand Oprah or anyone who names an entire network after them self for that matter. Good bye, never watched the show anyway.
Yes indeed! This woman has a heart with compassion something that is Definately Lacking in America anymore. She is to be commended for all the people she has reached out to help.
She represents what & how Americans should live with their fellow man. Not the Greediness & Self-Serving antics that are so prominent in todays Societies.
Our Representatives of this County are a prime example of that!
No but I bet all the freeloading liberals will miss her they could always watch her show while not working and collecting entitlements ,that was her audience
Yes, she generates tons of "commerce". Her money comes from advertising= convincing people to buy stuff they don't need. She's a hero to all those women sitting home on their Welfare Collecting backsides. What has she done to improve their lives? She's just another means to pacify the slugs. Maybe if she told them to turn off the TV and get a job, I might respect her.
Oprah is an amazing woman! Don't think for one second that she is going to disappear from the radar. There are bigger aspirations in store I am sure of it.
Will I miss the show? Absolutely NOT! Oprah is a good actress, however she never gave out of her own pocket. Her advertisers did the giving, not her. Her show was the vehicle to get their names out there!
Careful 12:51, else you might twist yourself in knots trying to reconcile that petty argument.
Here's a hard FACT for you to work with while you're at it: Oprah's primary audience is white women over 55!
Didn't I tell you those elderly white women were a bunch of "welfare queens in cadillacs"! LOL. I'm dying of laughter over so many of you guys' hysterical illogical anti-anything remotely Obama garbage.
I'm a guy--and. yes, guys do (or I should say did) watch Oprah. 12;33 best captured my feelings about her. She has done an inordinate amount of good for this country. I guess her lasting legacy will be her inculcating into so may people's minds, and certainly by her own example, that one may achieve anything he or she really desires. She made many people believe in themselves. Was she perfect? No, of course not. She did go overboard with celebraties as her guests, as 11:54 points out. But I really don't think there will be another like her.
Hey Clown, please take two seconds to google "neilsen". And before you wine about "they can't be accurate" recall that executives wager millions on tv programming based off their data.
If you have to ask how this billionaire woman went out and made her money, I'm not sure why I would even engage in any sort of debate with you.
As for working Obama in: Ah, I guess you are new to this blog huh?
The question of how she makes money was a rhetorical one. I was referring to my original point that she makes money from advertising.
I keep making points and you're using red herring techniques to try to get off topic. There's only one reason you do this and I forgive you because you learned it from the party you so dearly believe in. They and Oprah throw you scraps from the table and you become an obedient little dog.
It would take me a very long time to explain, but I'll sum up and say that the goal of advertising, in most cases, is to attempt to get you to buy things that you do not need.
I don't mean to single out Oprah, but she appeals to those who don't earn money. If she didn't, she'd be in a different time slot. They may be 55-year-old black or white women... I don't know.
Every time you watch something on television or read something on the internet, ask yourself, "Who does this benefit?" It is very rarely you.
Of course I don't see anything wrong with advertising industry. That's their job, to help sell products. And fees have to be paid for that.
Just because they interupt your t.v. watching is not enough reason for them to go away.
It's obvious you have issues with them but they help businesses prosper, or they wouldn't be sucessful.
This is a CAPITALISTIC country and that is just how things work. It is nothing new. Nobody likes them but they will never go away.
You keep saying it would take too long to explain. I think that is an excuse because you really have no bonifide reason they should not exist other than you don't like them.
There is no need to continue this line of conversation. You just do not have any valid claims in this discussion.
Wow.. So much negativity.. What ever happened to "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I don't watch her show, no interest in it. However, I can tell she's had a positive impact on this world and I hope she continues to do so. Why all the hatred on here? There are stay-at-home-moms, retirees, and people who are unemployed (and not by choice) people who work night shifts, plenty who would catch her show and not be a freeloader.
No I won't miss Oprah she had a liberal agenda and a lot of power over women. If Oprah had told her viewers to kill their husbands a majority of them would have because to them Oprah was like God. Also she was a racist most all of her charity went to blacks no equal rights there.
Not even a little bit.
ReplyDeleteNope, just another useless Liberal from Chicago

ReplyDeleteNo! A waste of time. She got rich acting like she cared about other people and gave back just to make herself feel better. Such a fake!
ReplyDeleteUh, no. Because I was always at WORK when it came on! Never really got to watch it very much. Didn't think it was worth my time to record it. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! This woman has a heart with compassion something that is Definately Lacking in America anymore.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was married I could always tell the beginning of an argument if it started with "I saw on Oprah today" or "I saw on Dr. Phil today"
ReplyDeleteFarewell and so long

ReplyDeleteworthless waste of time just like almost all tv these days! Goodbye, solong, farewell...........

Keep the posts coming Joe!
She has her own show? I've been busy enough turning magazines around in the grocery store rack when I see her picture on the front cover.
ReplyDelete1:35
ReplyDeleteNice try. You negate his/her entire argument because you know who Oprah's primary audience is... although you cited nothing.
How does she make money genius?
And where did he/she mention Obama? I'm sure you're trying to work a race card in there somewhere.
I'm a guy--and. yes, guys do (or I should say did) watch Oprah. 12;33 best captured my feelings about her. She has done an inordinate amount of good for this country. ReplyDeletei didn't know she had a show. oh well, thanks sjd
ReplyDeleteYou few on here talking smack about something you know nothing about. Old news there.
ReplyDeleteShe is a billionaire. Enough of AMERICA liked her enough for her to generate a massive income.
It's easy to target people such as her. I hardly watch t.v. so it won't affect me either way.
She has done good things with her money from what little I have read, and I assume she will continue to do so.
What good do any of you naysayers even attempt to do?
no , haven't watched her since the color purple.

ReplyDeleteNO !!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to be her sex slave! After a few million dollars she signs over!

So what? She makes the money. What difference does it make if it comes from advertising?

lol Again, so what? You keep babbling about advertising but you can't nail down a point.
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:00
ReplyDeleteIf you don't see anything wrong with an entire industry committed to convincing you to buy things you don't need, then we agree to disagree.
Ahm 2:19, you say you're a guy?? Judging by that comment you do see why we may be questioning that, right? LOL!!
