Man Dies After Falling Off Bull

Victim: Leonel Trejo, 40, New Castle, DE

New Castle- The Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a New Castle man after he fell from a bull during a rodeo event last night in New Castle.
 
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29th during a rodeo event that was being held at the Nur Temple located in the 100 block of S. DuPont Highway, New Castle. The initial investigation has revealed that the victim, Leonel Trejo, 40, had been riding a bull in the rodeo. After approximately one minute, Trejo, who was an experienced bull rider, was thrown from the bull to the ground at which time the bull stepped on his chest area, injuring Trejo. Trejo was not wearing protective equipment at the time which is not required during Mexican bull riding events.
 
County Paramedics and EMS members responded to the scene and transported Leonel Trejo to the Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body was turned over to the medical examiner’s office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
 
The investigation into this event is still on going. There are no further details at this time.

  1. investigate what ....shouldnt it be obvious he fell off a bull during a rodeo ..... what a complete waste of taxpayer money to investigate that

  2. Uh Yea, there is this big conspiracy and the Bull was given a shot to throw this rider, because he was in the lead for the PBR points championship. Delaware State Police, multi million dollar agency run like a circus. This is a waste of tax payers money.
