Warming Up For 2012 Race, Obama Pitches Budget Plan

President Barack Obama hit the road Tuesday to start selling his plan to cut runaway budget deficits, saying his blueprint is more balanced than a rival Republican plan because he'd ask more people to share the sacrifices — mainly wealthier Americans.

"The debate isn't about whether we reduce our deficit. The debate is about how we reduce our deficit," he said in a town hall meeting at the Northern Virginia Community College, a Democrat-friendly campus just outside Washington.

The debate, in fact, is also about rival visions of government in 21st century America, and it's likely to dominate the 2012 elections, and unlikely to be resolved before them.

  2. Obama has been implicated by a California politician for his involvement on supplying drug Cartels in Mexico with over 1,000 weapons; than trying to implement laws in the USA to make guns illegal for our citizens; with his girl H. Clinton.
The project: named "GUN RUNNERS" was disigned to trace the guns that the bad guys use and intially was endorsed by Bush, however Bush would not permit the Weapons to cross State Lines into Mexico. Obama ignored direction by the ATF and introduced AK-47's and 50 calipers to the drug Lords; used in recent crimes against others. Do your own research and see how INCOMPETENT OBAMA REALLY IS!!!

  3. Obama stated his plan would cut the deficit by 4 trillion over the next 12 years. Another way of saying that, is Obama wants to add another 14 trillion to our deficit over the next 12 years. You can't tax and spend your way to fiscal solvency.

  4. 9:28 and you can't decide to provide blanket tax cuts well below historical levels and expect revenues to catch up. I wish we could find someone to develop a balanced strategy that relies solely on the facts without all the partisan games.
