  4. Not before we go completely broke.Too many democrats and too much corruption to fix it I think.

  5. We already did, under the Clinton Administration. We actually had a surplus, but then George W. got us into two wars and cut taxes on the rich. Why do Republicans conveniently forget this?

  6. 11:31

You seem to conviently forget that the house was controlled by republicans at the time. All spending comes from the house and Clinton actually had very little to do with the budget except to sign it or veto it.

  7. It may be nice to balance the federal budget one or two years but we still have to pay down the debt and it will take many years of SURPLUS budgets to do that.

  9. 11:40 then I don't want to hear any complaints about obama now, considering the house is now also controlled by republicans. We were in a surplus until the bush administration gave a bunch of tax cuts to people who didn't need them at all.

  11. First let me say if you took all of the money from the rich we still could not balance the budget because of the reckless spending and the debt run up by the Obama administration. Second, Bush did not get us into two wars but it was the Democratic Congress and Senate that voted for this. Also, all the intelligence and all foreiegn allies voted for this as well. Finally, all the Middle East countrys would become our enemies without the forming of a Democratic sosiety. Everyone agreed the the leader of Iraq was a threat to all nations and comitted mass murders. Blame it all on Bush just as Obama has for all his failurs and the current national debt he has done on his watch. Happy Easter!

  13. Personally - I think the Country is to far gone to fix it.

To try and fix it now is to little and to late. About the only solution now is for our government to default.

I believe even our Congress now realizes that it is to far gone to fix. They just won't level with our citizenry.

  14. I would have to live to be 500 to see that.

  15. We could have a balenced budget, not raise taxes, pay down the national debt and have more money for social programs... All this country would have to do is 2 things- legalize pot and start a national lottery.

  16. Legalize pot and tax it. Both Delaware and Maryland are close to passing it for medical reasons, can't tax it that way. I'll do my best to take a chunk out of the debt.

  17. To 4:46

I think it is to late to try and fix our Country also. At this late stage of the game they will just be throwing good money after bad.

I agree - our Congress probably realizes its to late also - but just won't admit it - especially when they are also feeding at the trought.

  18. Clinton told the Congress, "send me a balanced budget or I won't sign it." Then he worked with the R's to get it done. Bush never did that, he is part of the whacko right wing tea party fringe that is more concerned with checking birth certificates and following insane Glen Beck conspiracy theories than they are getting anything done. Every single tea party member is a selfish, no good, racist, ignorant, piece of low life garbage. End of story.

  19. To 8:21 You are in Donald Duck world, open your eyes and read what is really going on. Try not to take one or two statements and blame the whole group. Obama is driving this country down a rat hole and has increased the National debt more than all the other Presidents combined. Wake up, read and learn and you might get it!

  20. My name is Arthur Mattingly of Fruitland Maryland, not 8:21, and when you have the courage to use your name then I will respect your opinion. I have said nothing of Obama or this current Congress, just that under PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, the DEMOCRAT, we had a balanced budget. I know, because I was part of the administration.
