If your planning on heading up Rt. 13 North, think twice. Right now there's a backup all the way from the construction of the Rt. 13 overpass, (over Rt. 50) all the way up to Pohanka.
If you can avoid traveling north bound Rt. 13, DO IT!
Yeah, I drove by there today. As usual, one person was working and there were several just standing. They show great work ethics!!! One would think that the bridge/roadway by PRMC would be finished first before starting a new project!!
I have to pass by that overpass construction everyday, it has been a cluster from the start! If they would use their brains and detour left turns (since they've eliminated the turn lane), there wouldn't be near the bottle neck that there is. But, instead, if even just one person is waiting to turn left, they sit in the traffic lane forever waiting and it ends up backing up traffic for more than a mile!!!!
Traffic on all other routes around the overpass are already so congested with people trying to get on Rt. 50 that if they made it a no-left turn it would be a complete standstill. Have you ever seen Mill St at 5pm? And now we should put more cars on it? They would have to put a left turn arrow at the intersection of Rt. 13 and Main St to get people into the downtown area and those roads are always a mess at rush hour. They can't win...plus you have to factor in that people are just plain crazy behind the wheel and aren't courteous to each other...it could run smoothly if people would just calm down.
there is more than 1 way to get around the backups. I can't believe that hardly anyone will take northwood dr to bypass the work being done north of priscilla st. Beaglin park dr works great to to get from south to north. Salisburians are like little sheep just waiting till the sheperd moves them in stead of figuring out alternatives.
Wawa, Kohl's and Walmart was a nightmare. I seriously think Wawa could open another one just across the street and it'd do just fine.
ReplyDeleteI hate 13 north! It's always congested.
ReplyDeleteIt's on Business 13-- construction/utility work in the right lane, with traffic having to merge to one lane.
ReplyDeleteA mess.

ReplyDeleteForget Rt. 13 altogether, I use Beaglin Park all the time - I hate Rt. 13.

ReplyDeleteWhy don't they work at nite? Is there a reason they do it on a weekend? Seriously is there a reason why it can't be done after 5?
