Orville Dryden with 542 votes
Bruce Ford with 347 votes
Thanks for being first to get the results to us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the past nightmare of the three is a memory! This has made my evening!
ReplyDeleteI guess we will have an all out knock down drag out SAPOA funded fight when Debbie Campbell's term is up--Mikey Dunn-are you running? Lets get to work NOW to prevent him from winning!!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie or Terry should be council president.
ReplyDeleteHopefully now they will realize the new fire chief is just as bad or worse than Gordy, Hoppes and See and send him packing. Lets see a clean sweep of all the department heads.
ReplyDeleteThat squishy sound you hear is the end of all of the weasels who tried to unfairly influence the election, imploding all at once. Kind of feel stupid now donating $250 in the name of your secretary, don't you Mr. Landlord?
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Salisbury!
Wow! Hard to believe that Laura Mitchell came out on top in the number of ballots. I voted for her, as well as for Cohen and Spies, so I hope that this time I don't get disappointed. As for president, I recall that Louise Smith was chosen because of her vote totals; will the same thing happen now?
ReplyDeleteWay to go my behind!! great, now we are full of housewife camdenites (Spies included) whose world extends from camden to Riverside only. We are screwed.....
ReplyDeleteHow is the new chief a bad person? he is doing wonders for the department.
ReplyDeleteThere are still absentee ballots to be counted. Hopefully they will not change the results as whole but they may give Terry a lead.
ReplyDeleteWe have been waiting for this for EIGHT years !!!!!
Thanks Salisbury!

ReplyDeleteNo! The council votes for the president and the top vote getter out of 5 gets the seat. By all rights it should be Debbie Campbell based on experience. Not only that she was the top vote getter in her election and she captured more votes than the Mayor did city wide. Speaks volumes.

We need to work NOW to get a new Mayor in office. Now is the time for the city council to vote on changes for the Mayor's salary and make it a full time position. No one decent is going to run for Mayor and give up a decent paying job for the measly salary it now pays. Get rid of the City Administrator and the Assistant City Administrator and this will pay for a full time Mayor. With those savings a new administrator can be hired for half of John Pick's salary.

ReplyDelete"I want to congratulate Laura Mitchell on her victory and believe she should be our next City Council President."
LMFAO, none of his people won so now he is totally ignoring the true winners.
Oh yeah, and let's not forget Lynn Duffy who he was pimping for Pocomoke's Mayor. She lost by a landslide! Looks like he is batting a thousand with all his picks from all the elections. NOT!
Memo to future candidate wannabe's: Don't align yourself with the Anti-Albero Hate Blogs!
When is this current nightmare over? When do the newly elected take office? Either way it can't get here soon enough.

Oh, OK Chief, now go back to sleep.
10:09 PM please tell the tax payers what great wonders he is doing for the department?
ReplyDeletewow is all I can say! How are all of these girls going to get along (jimmy & timmy included). Talk about pecking order. This should make living here lots of fun! NOT!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you run for office and see how many votes you get? What an embarrassment that would be for the Albero clan.

How can a department head be doing wonders for a department when he is spending thousands upon thousands of dollars?
Ha! We kicked your butt you big crybabies in SAPOA land! Between getting your butts kicked in the mayoral race, and getting clean sweeped here, when are you going to realize that it doesn't matter how much money you throw at an election, how many students you lie to, that it is obvious who cares for the city? Rumor has it a certain former council member is intending to run for mayor fully financed by SAPOA. Well, guess what will happen?
ReplyDelete7:39 AM would that be Michael Dumb?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Mayor can be civil with the 3 council members(Campbell, Cohen and Spies) that supported him in his election.
ReplyDeleteBetter yet maybe Jim Ireton can remember all the citizens that supported him and he turned his back on after he got elected.
I expect every council member to audit the spending of every department head as well as prove to the citizens why we need to keep John Pick and Lore Chambers.
ReplyDelete7:45,
ReplyDeleteThat would be a good thing. I worked hard to get Ireton elected, have been pretty disappointed overall but I think some of that was frustration with the council. Hopefully he will remember that those of us who voted for him were looking for change. Now we've got a council that is ready to go to work. Time for the mayor to reach out to them and in respecting the council, will be respecting the people of Salisbury.
how about a new city attorney!
ReplyDeleteTime has come to audit the city books and determine wether or not Pam Oland, John Pick, Lore Chambers and Paul Wilbur have performed their jobs --if not it is time to CUT the leftover wasteful fat from the city budget. These people have performed disgracefully in the past and it is despicable on the part of Ireton to not have addressed their incompetence.
ReplyDelete7:56, well said! I voted for Jim Ireton and have been rather disappointed so far, but I think now, with a 4-1 majority behind him, we might see a different mayor. If he still does not live up to our expectations, it can't be blamed on the Council. I really think that a new day has finally dawned on Salisbury; it has been a long time coming. I know that we've said that before. Let's hope this time it really is true and that we now have a real "dream team."
ReplyDelete10:04, I am one of those "Camdenites." It's not our fault that our area has for so long been very involved with city politics. Hopefully, you were among the less-than-15% who bothered to vote.
Mike dunn will be remembered for saying we are THIS CLOSE to developing the old mall.
ReplyDeleteHe also supported the WWTP debackle amoung many other wet dreams, like Sassafras.
After the developers got $14,000,000 from city taxpayers what has been developed? Nothing.
8:24, you are the 15% that voted.
ReplyDeleteSorry Salisbury, but if that is the best you could do, then you are screwed!
ReplyDelete9:45 AM - don't you worry. We will be fine!
ReplyDeleteAs for Jim - I hope he reads your blog Joe.
Go Salisbury!
"Way to go my behind!! great, now we are full of housewife camdenites (Spies included) whose world extends from camden to Riverside only. We are screwed.....

Probably that idiot Jonathan Taylor, IMO!
Debbie Campbell's world extends to national recognization and HARVARD!
Tim Spies' world extended to IRAQ and Katrina disaster rescue!
Terry Cohen's world extended to the Ivy League and across North America!
NONE of those three are "just housewives," although as a guy married to the sharpest "housewife" in town, you can stick it in your fat ear. My wife could budget and audit you in her sleep.
JT's world extends to the food bowl in front of him, IMO!
Poor sore losers.
