Obama Warns Gadhafi: Stop Now Or Face Military Action

Gadhafi forces attack rebels, advance to Benghazi

Obama warns Libyan leader to comply with U.N. resolution or face military action

Western allies stepped up military pressure Friday against Moammar Gadhafi, sending warships and fighter planes to the region to enforce a U.N.-authorized no-fly zone. Libyan forces shelled a rebel-held city and were quickly advancing towards the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, despite a cease-fire declared earlier in the day.

President Barack Obama warned Gadhafi that if the Libyan leader did not stand down the United States would join in military action against him.

"All attacks against all civilians must stop," Obama said.

"These terms are not subject to negotiation. If Gadhafi does not comply with the resolution, the international community will impose consequences."

  1. I wonder if the democrats will attack Nobama for getting us into another altercation? And, he's bringing our troops home too right? Wrong. This guy just can't keep his promises. He's a waste. Can't wait to vote him out.

  3. Step one for that, 5:50, is nominating a Republican that can win at least 51%. I am not trying to be snide or dismissive when I say that I don't know if you have one yet.

  4. Yeah he is full of it. He doesn't seem very confident on this issue. His attempt to strong arm them into a cease fire came off as weak. Every day he is president he diminishes the standing of the office. Sounds like the above blogger voted for him, sorry.

  6. Its waaay too late to save the rebels and Obama knows it. He spent too much time in "conferences" and trying to get a "coalition" and TALKING about what he should do. Let Gadhafi kill the rebels so Obama can get back to the business of telling us how peaceful and kind and helpful the Middle East Muslims are....

  7. It's a shame Obama won the last election....If he had lost, we would not have any of the problems we now have, right? Everything is wrong because our party didn't win? If the Republicans won the White House, we wouldn't blame them for anything....our party is always doing what's in our best interest, right.

  8. Popular vote doesn't count, as we found out when Gore ran.

Electoral college is what elects presidents, not voters.
