President Barack Obama condemned on Wednesday the shooting of U.S. Air Force soldiers in Frankfurt, Germany, in which two were killed and two others were wounded. The gunman reportedly shouted the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) as he fired upon the airmen who were on a transport bus.
“I am saddened, I am outraged by this attack that took the lives of two Americans and wounded two others,” Obama told reporters on Wednesday. “I think the American people are united in expressing our gratitude for the service of those who were lost. Michelle and I have their family and their friends in our thoughts and prayers. And we are praying for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.”
