Former Md. Governor Ehrlich Joins Law Firm

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich has been named senior counsel at an international law firm.

King and Spalding says on its website that Ehrlich will serve in the firm's government advocacy and public policy practice. He'll work in the firm's Washington office.

The firm's managing partner, Wick Sollers, says in a statement that Ehrlich offers "incomparable insight and connections at the busy intersection of business and politics."

Ehrlich, a Republican, was elected governor in 2002 but lost his bid for re-election four years later. He ran unsuccessfully last year against Democratic incumbent Martin O'Malley.

Ehrlich has worked at the law firm of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice. He founded the firm's Baltimore office.
