The Somerset County Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of Eastbound Md. Rt. 667 (Rehobeth Road) and Cornstack Road, Marion Station for a single vehicle accident with injury. Deputies located a 2000 Ford Expedition that collided with a tree. The vehicle was occupied by four passengers at the time of the crash. One small child and one infant child (located in the back seat) were transported by the Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with non-life threatening injuries. Both front seat occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire department personnel. The front seat passenger, Anne Christine Goodrow was flown by Maryland State Police Medivac Helicopter Trooper 4 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was later transferred to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Lee McCready was flown by Maryland State Police Medivac Helicopter Trooper 7 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury as well, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries as a result of the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Fire departments from the Marion and Crisfield, as well as the Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rrescue Squad and Princess Anne EMS were on scene for approximately 4 hours.
The Somerset County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Maryland State Police, Princess Anne Police Department, and the Natural Resources Police.
