The Character Of A "Good" Man...

To whom this may concern,

It has been a minute since I have written on this site, but after watching the news this evening, I felt compelled to add my "2cents". First off, I am "nobody", and my 2cents might not matter to "anybody", but I want to talk about "somebody", who tried to help "everybody" during the tragic situation that happened to  Lil 11 yr old Sarah Foxwell. That somebody is Joe Albero. I heard the comments (and read them) made today by Sarah's grandmother concerning Joe. About him "trying" to make money from the situation.

First off, I find that hard to believe? Why, or how, you ask??? Well it is during this time I met Joe. I am a young smart African American with a street-smart type of appeal about myself. I consider myself a beautiful person, inside and out, but this is America. With this said, I got in contact with Joe about a song that I had created (with Will Walker and my team) about Sarah (called Yesterday- A song for Sarah) to try to raise money for the family, trying to help out in any way, shape or form. Joe has the #1 blog site on the Eastern Shore (in my opinion). I wanted to know if he could put the song on his site to gather some type of push to get the song heard by the masses. Joe told me straight up, "I will not take part if this is YOUR way of trying to gain money for the song. I will only do it, if it's a real cause for the family (which it was), and finally if it was a good true heartfelt song (which it is).

He liked the song, what it stood for and helped me/us, and put it on his site. At this point, my team didn't have money to reproduce the song for sale ( I was unemployed) I still am...can you help me?-smile). Well Joe was willing to pay fo the reproduction of the song...out of his own pocket! He even went as far as to put us on his show to gain the edge we needed. Not once did he take ANYTHING. He only wanted to add to it. That a good man if I have ever seen one.

So in closing, I just wanted to say, Thank You Joe. Thank you for trying to help out, for trying to continue to keep the community informed of everything that was happening at that terrible time...and your still champing the cause as far as keeping us "updated". I don't know whats going on between you and the family...but I only saw goodness in you. God Bless you. Thanks again for EVERYTHING.

In closing, If there is anyone who would like a copy of the song, you can email me at:  topnotchent.mgmt@gmail.com . And its, NOT FOR SALE! We are GIVING THEM AWAY!. Its a weird way of us all celebrating Sarah. She can rest in peace and the family and have some type of closure. REST WELL SARAH... He won't hurt anyone else...

  2. Very well said and I agree with you post 100% and if they felt this way how come it took them until yesterday to say it.

  3. Great post! In reality this incident doesn't have any money making potential. Now I guess if you are the Foxwell's $5.00 is alot but realistically it's not a money maker.
If in fact a book is ever written it will have to be self published and will only be of local interest selling at the most 200 copies.

  4. i disagree with the amount of copies being sold if a book is published....there are many true crime readers across the country...

KEEP ON KEEPING ON...I SPOKE WITH YOU A FEW WEEKS AGO ON THE PHONE REGARDING A MATTER THAT WAS HAPPENING IN MT GRAND CHILDRENS LITTLE LIVES...I WAS SO UPSET WHEN I CALLED YOU, YOU MADE ME FEEL LIKE YOU WERE MY GOOD FRIEND GIVING ME ADVICE....AGAIN THANK YOU SIR....GOD BLESS YOU , JENNIFER AND THOSE BEAUTIFUL GRAND BABYS.....

  6. All the Grandmother has done is help Joe realistically. She put more light on him and less cooth on her. Just look at the hits the site is getting!! Sponsors will love it! She rambled on too long and the light put on her was very negative. On a day that she should have been basking in Sarah's ray's from Heaven due to closure of this horrible act she opened all the wounds again and will forever be known as the one who forgot the real meaning of this case. Her own Grandaughter. So sad. She really looked bad doing that! All Joe's lawyers have to do is play that in any court and everyone will see this his way!

  7. I wish someone would forward the video to Smoking Guns Dumbest moments show. A madman has just admitted to killing and raping an 11 yr old girl and all the grandmother does is go a rant about a blogger that hurt her feelings.

  8. I think the grandmother is very unstable and may be at risk of harming others, if you show this to a psychiatrist she may be EP to the hopital for evaluation; I watched the WBOC video and she is plain crazy, I have never heard anyone ever talk that bad for so long; It probably took her a whole year to write the darn speech given her level of education. Joe is an assest to our community and its funny that the secrets are out

  11. sharptown I'm guess the woman thought it would be a good idea and probably the only time anyone would pay attention to her to use yesterday's plea hearing to bash Joe and Salisbury News. I think it's backfired as everyone I know is laughing at her now and thinks she is a lunatic.
The funniest was the poor states attorney and the sheriff trying to figure out if they should run or stay put.

  12. I agree... I did not know about this Blog or many of the facts of the case, until the Grandmother started ranting & WBOC News carried the live feed... for a few minutes that is & then they cut her off to go back to their normal broadcast.

I have scanned through the entries concerning the Sarah Foxwell murder and haven't seen anything that seemed to point to Joe Albero being out-of-line with his Blog... unless you think uncovering the TRUTH is wrong.

As far as a book is concerned... Joe or anyone else has the right to write a book. Many, made for TV, Movies have been based on such books written about tragic/infamous events. I am only surprised that this case has not caught the national public eye in a great way... If it had, I think that Sarah's family/guardians would have much to fear about their own actions... Maybe that is still coming...

  13. why do you feel it "necessary" to "point out" that you are an "african american male". what "bearing" does this "have" on the "subject" at "hand"

  14. I think that she was ranting to try and cover her own disfuntional families guilt of allowing this known preditor have access to an inocent child.

  15. As a grandparent of five, I am trying to look at the grandmother from her viewpoint. The only rationale I can come up is that, as a grandmother, she has been so emotionally distraught over this whole ordeal that she really isn't thinking rationally. That may not be an excuse for her words, but yesterday must have been extremely difficult for her as well as the whole family, and she had to lash out. Since Joe was an easy target (in her mind), that's what she did. I may be entirely off, but I am trying to look at it from her perspective. Had I lost one of my grandchildren in such an abominable way, there is no telling what I might do or say. I know that I wouldn't be myself.

@ 1:21PM. I pointed that out because as a American American man, the first thought of our society is that I would be trying to gain some type of profit for making the song. Unless I come in a business suit and a mapped out plan, some people would think I have a different motive. It's sad, but true. My point is/ was, Joe didn't care about any of that...only the good deed that we were trying to do. Try to cature the WHOLE message...don't try to make it something else. Thats why I even included that... because of be like you...who only wantyed to point out a "negative" that didn't have nothing to do with the whole letter. I did say alot of other stuff if you didn't notice. Get a grip.... IT'S REAL! Wish it wasn't,but it is. sorry if I offended you or anyone else.

  17. i don't think your letter offended anyone, I just dont understand why it was necessary to point out that you are african american. Even with your explanation, i just dont get it.

  18. Like many I had never heard of Joe or his blog before the grandmother's rant yesterday, and unlike many posters on FB I think WBOC tried to respect how difficult the day must have been and cut the live feed as to protect the woman from herself. I was sickened once again by Jennifer this woman tossed her children aside like unwanted toys to indulge in her addictions and lifestyle of choice, wonder who the prize baby daddy is this time? Make no bones about it Leggs is a MONSTER and a coward that didn't want to die. I hope his fellow inmates make how ever long he may draw a breath a living hell. Jennifer Foxwell, called Leggs' comments insulting and insincere, to this I suggest she take a long hard look in the mirror. Amy is the only member of Sarah's family that has shown any remorse for what she sees as her failure to protect and keep her safe. Amy made a mistake one that I see several single parents make which is introducing someone into the lives of innocent children before the adult has known them long enough to know what type of person they are. If the media is correct in their reporting she only dated Leggs for a very short time before finding out what kind of person he was and ending things. Maybe at some point she can honor Sarah and protect other children from such a tragic fate by speaking out about the dangers of introducing kids into a new relationship. Amy made a mistake, but make no doubt Sarah knew you stepped up and loved and protected her, while so many others are the ones that failed her. As to concern over a book being written I think there are parties that are worried that unless they have control they will shown for who and what they really are for the world to see (besides they won't be able to line their own pockets).

  19. The grandmother did exactly what Barrie Tighlman did draw more attention to this blog, which is not a bad thing.

I don't agree with everything on here, and Joe doesn't post all of it. However, their are a lot more important things that have come to my attention I wouldn't know without the exsistance of this blog.

Her last chance to publicly speak of her grand daughters murder, instead of taking it out on the killer, she chose to bash a blogger that had good intentions.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @2:28 It's cool. We can agree to disagree. Moving on...have you heard the song? Did you like it? did you want it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. food for thought....in conflict between 2 people, remember there is always truth in both sides.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have yet to view the video yet, but to 2:45, Jennifer knew Leggs was a convicted child predator. She had no problem telling everyone that was around her when he was around. She should have put down her own addictions (like BEER) and tried to get ALL of her children back when her sister started dating this monster, but she was too worried about partying and socialized. She is pregnant now and that baby should be taken away from her as soon as he/she is born. She should not have the ability to ruin another child's life.

  23. Holy CRAP. This woman is something else. She is beyond ignorant. What a horrible thing to have associated with this true tragedy. She should look to her own parenting and behavior and perhaps this tragedy would not have occurred. SHE sounds like a rabid dog. She has already reaped what she has sown.

Poor Matt, he was a deer in the headlights.

  24. Are you kidding me?! That Amy knew nothing about this guy?! ALL THE MORE NOT to bring a man into your home with children there!!!!!!!! How about a computer? background check? Meet him out in public somewhere!!!!!!!!!! How about raising the KIDS FIRST then worry about what you want!!!!! Maybe she should listen to Dr. Laura!!!!!!!! OMG! I am over this already, Poor Sarah!!!!! yes, I am a Mom and my kids come first!!!!

So yes, I agree Amy should be held for child neglect as well!

While I agree with some of the things you say, this women planned to make this speech once she got someone to listen. She had all this planned out, that is why she had it in writing and was reading from it. What type of person does that? She was more concerned about going after Joe than anything else. SICK!

I don't understand how people can always take the bad out of everything. Joe is a good man he was ONLY going to help us raise this money for Sarah Foxwell and her siblings IF we was not taking advantage of the situation and making money for ourselves! The ONLY thing in our eyes was doing the GOOD thing and raise money. When we sat down and come up with this song we knew some would think the negative. There was alot of people behind us from day 1. I realize that there are alot of criminals out in this world but why try and make profit off of this type of situation. We did this on our own with the help of Joe. Our team we got together did this out of love. We didn't once ask for ANYTHING in return!! The song is great and its all from the heart Will Walker, Travis Watrers and Tommie and Myself only want to get the song out so people can feel what we feel from it. What happen was terriable and the only thing we ask is respect what we did and what Joe is doing and realize that is for the good!!

    Thank You

  27. Am I the only one who doesn't blame the aunt, Amy? How many of us actually checked the sex offender registry every time we interacted with someone else before Sarah's murder. Yes, it's foremost in our minds now, but before? After Sarah's murder, the registry was plastered everywhere and all parents were urged to check it, but how many people knew about it before? The question is, WHEN did she know about Leggs? Did she know when she first got involved? Or did she kick him to the curb when she found out. I would only be willing to place blame if she knew from the beginning of his history and still allowed him around the children, although from what I've heard that's not the case.

I would like to think I'm a very cautious mom. I live out in the country, don't let my children ride their bikes down the road, don't let them visit their friends' homes without explicitly knowing the family; but even with all this, my children could become a target just as anyone else's.

  28. To Thomas and anyone else who may be interested. Thomas, your post made me decide to also post something unknown about Mr. Joe. When my grandson passed away last year, due to medical conditions, no one would cover him with any insurance other than medical. Through the help of family, some of the funeral costs were paid but there was still a large, outstanding balance that we could not afford. On the day of the funeral, we were told it had been paid in full by someone who prefered to remain anonymous. I knew it was Mr. Joe and when I thanked him, all he said was it was his way of paying it forward which is a part of his goal with this blog. He never posted it nor did he brag about it as some haters like to think he does. He did it in silence and because of who he is. Sorry Mr. Joe, you can still be anonymous about assisting us on your site but you will NEVER be anoymous to us!

Probably because Ms. Weschlser stated that Joe was a racist. He wanted people to make sure that they knew that Joe was indeed NOT a racist!

  30. Last winter Joe came to my home to plow my driveway and sidewalk. He had someone with him and I feel bad because I cannot remember his name. I am a single woman confined to a wheel chair. I tried to offer him money but he refused. He told me it was his pleasure to help me. Thank you Joe. I'll never forget it.

  31. Joe,
Your the best, always helping anyone in need I know this to be a fact, you helped my family.
God Bless you Joe continue to do what you do best..!

  32. There is another side to this that hasn't come out. That is the fact that DSS is responsible for monitoring and background checking EVERYONE that has access to the home. The question is--did they know Thomas Leggs had access to the home, and if so why didn't they do something to change Sarah and her sister's circumstances? If they didn't, how did this ball get dropped? While there is more than enough "fault" to go around in the Foxwell family, maybe some light needs to be shined somewhere else.

Yes you are the only one. I checked the sex offender list before I bought a house knowing someday I would have children..not yet though. Not to mention I wouldn't let them in my house or know where I keep my spare key.

  34. 4:43pm you are defending someone that you obviously have no clue about. Amy (the aunt) did know that Thomas Leggs was a sex offender when she was dating him, she admitted it to the police and it was published in the news as well. How do you defend someone who knowing brought a sex offender in her home around children she was caring for and was accepting money for from the state? I dont care who likes it, she needs to be charged with endangering the welfare of children, and let her own statement be the evidence that convicts her. she stayed quiet and out of sight during all this because she knows she is damn well to blame!

  36. 5:50 I'm in a similar situation. Joe and Bruce came to my rescue after each blizzard last year and once again after Christmas. I don't always agree with everything on this blog but I know to skip over it or click the X in the corner. I think I'm lucky to consider Joe a friend.

  38. I was so taken back by what I was hearing come from the Grandmothers mouth----I could hardly believe it!

Really sorry she had to create such a disturbance at a time when Sarah was being put to rest--at last!

It is a shame she feels as she does when all that was ever intended was for the people in this community to have the very latest updates about the child.
This town was in shock----it was Christmas----a child was missing---people were wanting to hear what was happening. Joe did just that, he kept people informed---and we thank you Joe!! EW

  39. Absorb the content of the posts, and don't fall in the trap of picking apart how a person identifies. It really has no place in this scenerio; it's the thought and action that count.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thank you Joe for your honesty, hardwork, and the number of countless hours you spend keeping us informed when the rest of the media leaves us hanging. Often times, these days, when an event first takes place--that's all you hear of it. You never hear the full outcome. I appreciate your dedication to the citizens of our community and the outreach efforts to keep us united, safe and humble--esp. during times like these.

It was YOUR posts that I trusted when Sarah went missing and I often times come to your site when I want the full story--not just bits and pieces of what others want us to hear and know (IE: the press conference being shut off the air on the local news station). I do, however, LOVE WBOC and am grateful to Don Elkins for having the guts to interrupt the press conference when he did. I feel sorry for Matt, but it was evident that people were losing interest. I'm very sorry for the family; I just wish that the grandmother had handled this in a different manner. Like a previous 'anonymous' post said, she may not have been in her absolute state of mind. I get that... What was done is done...she can't go back. I would've liked to have seen her focus her time on Sarah and the rest of the family instead of calling people out on tv. She didn't mind calling out "TRACY" but what about Sarah's own mother? What about the rest of them? Nobody is innocent here, except Joe...You're the only one who has been honest throughout the ordeal. Thank you for that!

  41. I'd like to follow up to a post I just made a few minutes ago. Did ANYONE in the foxwell/wescheler family stop and think that, perhaps, Joe plans to use those proceeds from a book about Sarah to donate to the cause? To donate to missing/exploited children? To educate women on the importance of doing background checks and/or protecting children against sexual predators? I don't know what Joe's intentions are, but I can only assume based off the postings that the LAST THING he intends to do is coat is pockets at the misfortune of this child. These people have been very selfish and have only befriended Joe when he was raising funds for them, the funeral, and the other children. It's so sick and sad...I really feel for you Joe. Keep doing what you're doing and keep paying it forward.

  42. That's our Joe!!!!!!Keep up the good work.

  43. How she identified her self was part of the comment..absorbed. Still annoying. Rest in peace Sarah.

  44. Joe or anyone is there any chance that the full details of Sarah's tragic life and untimely death will see the light of day. I would think if the so called attacks on the family of Sarah are untrue they would welcome having their halos polished. What has become of the children. Myself like many other I have spoken to aren't buying that Jennifer push for the plea deal to protect Sarah's sister much more likely that it was a bid to keep the families dirty little secrets out of court so they could continue to "play" the role of victims. News Flash Sarah was the victim and I hope someone is making sure Jennifer's other children are being protected

  45. this is a very sad sitution.people bashing each other.this monster wound have done this to other children if not caught.i for one am glad he is put away for life but their are more of them.what happened to the compassion at christmas time when she went missing.i will not bash anyone this could have happened to one of our own children.sara needs to rest in peace without everyone bashing her family or anyone else.have more compassion than anger.
