Hagerstown Judge Takes Breath Tests Before Work

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WUSA) -- A Washington County Circuit Court Judge is taking daily breathalyzer tests to prove he is sober before going in to court.

The unusual requirement is part of a reprimand imposed on Judge W. Kennedy Boone III by Maryland's Commission on Judicial Disabilities.

The commission reprimanded the judge in January after a drunk driving conviction in March of 2010. Judge Boone was arrested after an accident in Hagerstown in November of 2009. At the time he blew a .18, more than twice the legal limit in Maryland.
