Crushed By Medicaid Costs, States Expand Managed Care

It’s been 20 years since states began moving children and pregnant women over to the managed care model, with its fixed costs and more coordinated care. Now, states are finding that expanding managed care to new populations is one of the biggest levers they have to squeeze savings out of Medicaid.
