If the planet is warming, why is a third of America locked in a deep freeze, with record-low temperatures as far south as the Mexican border, where the thermometer in Ciudad Juarez plummeted Wednesday night to a bone-chilling 9-below zero?
Self-proclaimed planetary climate czar Al Gore thinks he has answer.
"As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now, and they say increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming," Gore write in a blog post. The Nobel Prize-winning former vice president was responding to a question posed by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, who wondered on air why global warming was such an urgent science policy priority when the New York City area had become a “tundra” this winter.
Gore also indicated that he believes a rise in global temperatures is creating “all sorts of havoc,” from hotter dry spells to colder winters and ever more violent storms. This is even endangering certain species of animals and leading to forest fires and floods.
But not surprisingly, some climate-change skeptics are a bit hot under the collar over Gore’s “scientific” explanation.

Ahh, another unbiased, fact-based report from Fox News.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem is this: The Democratic Party has no idea how to frame a narrative with the American public. "Global Warming" should never have been used as a phrase to represent "Climate Change," as evidenced by the snarkiness of the opening sentence in this essay.
If it would have been referred to as "Climate Change" for the last 30 years, it can be explained more effectively, and account for temperature variences and weather anomolies of all regard. Calling it "Global Warming" pigeon-holed the proponents, and left them open to this type of juvenile ridicule.
"If it's Global Warming, why am I so darn cold, you dumb libs?!?" Thanks, Einstein, for proving my point AND exposing your nuainced reasoning.
Semantics are important. That is the one thing I believe the Republicans know far better than anyone.
I'm no climate change fanatic. But whats funny is that if everyone would put down their partisan goggles and look at what the scientists have said, they would see that scientists have been predicting that extreme weather in the form of tropical systems, drought, AND SNOW are all predicted outcomes of climate change.
ReplyDeleteAl Gore is secretly laughing at the people who believe him. He could give two hoots about climate change. For him climate change is a money making scheme. His net worth has gone from 1-2 million in 2000 to 100 million at present all done with "global warming" nonsense and carbon credit schemes. His ocean view house in California has 5 bedroom, 9 bathroom and 6 fireplaces. His OTHER home in Nashville is 10,000 square feet. Oh yes, he also flys everywhere by private jet...does this sound like some who cares about the environment? Limousine liberal!
ReplyDeleteUm... First there was an Ice Age. Then things got warmer. Welcome to today.
ReplyDeleteScrew Climate Change and the other rhetoric. The Shore used to be known for quality oysters which are now going away due to lack of action in improving the health of the Bay. Now you have to go to SC or the Gulf to get a decent oyster. Washington dumps Blue Plains sewage into the Bay but blames the result on the Poultry industry. Since the majority of people that vote are from the West, they listen and believe it. The Shore simply cannot afford to have less than 100% turnout at the polls.
ReplyDeleteYou have to hand to BIG Al, as a capitalist he has created two of the nations greatest hoaxes ever invented, the Internet and Global Warming and he's laughing all the way to the bank.
