changes at Worcester too...they let Farlow go...he and Todd were only ones that apparantly knew about some of the murder cases upcoming...what a shame politics has to be over top of law
OMG, from what I knew about Liz Ireland, she was excellent (I was on a grand jury, and saw her in action). She was especially a wonderful advocate for children. I wonder why she was dismissed.
Joe, what is taking you so long to report on this. You posted this teaser at 2:16 and said you would report later today on this matter. It is 6:30 what is the rest of the story?????
What great forward steps by Matt then a step backwards with Todd ! Come on Matt...thought you would listen to the people in Worcester County ! Matt...make better decisions. What a disappointment!
4:49 - at some point, someone in this city is actually going to read the city charter and realize the Mayor can't fire department heads without the approval of the City Council. We've been over this hundreds of times. Ireton can't fire dep't heads until he gets a new council without its collective head up its bowels.
So the new Wicomico County State's attorney's first act is to fire one of the most dedicated, experienced, successful proscecutors in county history. Even worse, by doing so and refusing to give Liz Ireland any explanation, Matt goes back on his own word to Liz that she would be an"integral part" of his office. I dare him to deny it under oath. Liz Ireland, who, unlike Davisa Ruark is a Christian woman who did not approve of some of his actions and spoke honestly to him about it, is paying the price fdor honesty. She has put away morew sex offender, child abusers and rapists than anyone in county history. Her reputation is impeccable. But, heh, at least Davis Ruark"s buddy Joel Todd still has a job. Payback for expulsion of Ruark,s Dui conviction in that county? Who knows. WQhatever the reason the county's loss wqill be someone else's gain. This is reprehensible and smacks of Davis Ruark.
All four lower counties had changes today. Will you report Dorchester, Worcester and Somerset also?
ReplyDelete2 Assistant Attorneys got let go. Liz Ireland was one of them, she had over 24 years of service to the office. Shame to see good people go.
ReplyDeleteI knew about this since the election, but was sworn to secrecy.
ReplyDeleteI wish Ireton had done the same , this is a sign of good leadership.
ReplyDeleteMakes both parties stronger.

ReplyDeleteliz was part of the problem in that office, glad to see this change! Keep up the good work Matt!

ReplyDeleteJoel Todd is not "Ruark's buddy." Nice try 8:33.
ReplyDeletesuch a disappointment! bad decisions. thought inexperience could be a factor but had no idea it would be his first day. hope it gets better.
ReplyDeleteJoel reclused himself from Ruark's "trouble", 9:01 is right.
ReplyDeleteOh come on people....Just because Todd "reclused" himself from the Ruark case don't be fooled for one second. Of course he had some input.
