First They Threaten To Rape My Wife, Murder Our Grandson & Now This!

Some time ago Tom McGuire went out and ordered FUJA tags for his vehicle and proudly drove around with them. After my contacting the state of Maryland, they ultimately forced him to turn in those tags and he is now bragging about how his new tags say, "JASA15". By the way, he also bragged about how these new tags were supposed to arrive THURSDAY.

You remember Tom McGuire and his wife/girlfriend Nikki. They're the couple from Delmar that wished Brooke Mulford dead. He was running for Mayor and she was running for city Council. They sent me a letter begging me to publish it and when I did they freaked out.

For almost 7 years now I have given my time to this community as well as my finances. What these Anti Albero Bloggers are doing to threaten lives and encourage attacks against me and my family and now our property must be stopped.

I am offering a $1,000.00 REWARD for the capture and conviction of the individual who just did this last night or early this morning. The Salisbury Police are reviewing their videos of the traffic and perhaps get an image of the individual who did this but if you know who it was, $1,000.00 is YOURS.  

Let's hope Matt Maciarello reads between the lines and recognizes that violence will be next. I mean, how badly does it have to slap everyone in the face before they recognize this is just too mental.

I don't know where to turn and I want to apologize for bothering you with the problem that I am having.  Almost two years ago my husband and brother in law bagged two nice deer that they wanted to have mounted.  They took the deer to Jess Davis, Field of Dreams Taxidermy, which is in Allen, MD.  He was close to our home and his price was reasonable.  The guys were told over and over that he was working on it and that it should be ready soon.  Well it is now December 2010 and they still don't have the mounts.  We finally got him on the phone tonight and he told us that he was robbed and that my husband and brother in law were named as suspects.  This is the first that we heard of them being suspects.  My husband has talked to DNR several times with no prevail.  We have paid for the mounts in full in the amount of $225 for each mount.  We have told him before that we would take a loss on the money we just wanted the antlers.  My husband bagged the deer with our then 6 year old daughter.  This was trophy was very special to him because our daughter was with him when he got it and it was a record deer at that time.  We're just wondering what our options are at this time, if you could suggest anything.  We don't have much money so we don't know what our next move should be.

 

Like I said I hate to bother you with our problem, but I was hoping that you could help point me in the right direction to help resolve this issue.  Attached are a few pictures of the deer that both my husband and brother in law got in December 2008.

Middletown- The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a one vehicle fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred early this morning in Middletown.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:05 a.m. as Kenneth W. Poplos was operating a 2004 Nissan Sentra and was traveling northbound on Summit Bridge Road in the area of Marl Pit Road at an apparent high rate of speed. For an unknown reason, Poplos’ vehicle traveled off of the east edge of the roadway where it overturned several times before striking a pole. The Nissan then came to rest on its passenger side. Kenneth Poplos, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported from the scene by EMS and pronounced dead upon his arrival at the Christiana Hospital. His body was then turned over to the Medical Examiners Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Delaware Republican allegedly used part of $7.3 million on rent, personal expenses

BALTIMORE — Failed U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell said Thursday that accusations she misspent spent campaign funds are politically motivated and stoked by two disgruntled former campaign workers, defending herself a day after the disclosure of a criminal investigation into her spending.

The Delaware Republican appeared on several network morning shows after it was revealed that federal authorities have launched the probe to determine whether she broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses.

"There's been no impermissible use of campaign funds whatsover, O'Donnell told ABC's "Good Morning America."

O'Donnell, the tea party favorite who scored a surprise primary victory this year only to lose badly in the November general election, suggested the accusations were being driven by her political opponents on the right and left, including Vice President Joe Biden.

"You have to look at this whole thug-politic tactic for what it is," she said Thursday.

Revealed: Hawaii Governor's Own Hidden Past

Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie has a radical history that ties him to a U.S.-based socialist organization with deep connections to President Obama and to a "Marxist-socialist" bloc in Congress.

Abercrombie in recent days placed himself at the center of an eligibility dispute surrounding Obama's birth documentation, telling reporters he is deeply troubled by questions that cast doubt on the president's eligibility for office.

"What bothers me is that some people who should know better are trying to use this for political reasons," Abercrombie told the Los Angeles Times last week. "Maybe I'm the only one in the country that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, 'I was here when that baby was born.'"

There is no evidence to suggest Abercrombie was present at Obama's birth. He has acknowledged that he didn't see Obama's parents with their newborn son at any hospital, although he said he remembers seeing Obama as a child with his parents at social events.

Abercrombie has been described as an early friend of Obama's parents when they attended the University of Hawaii. He previously told the Chicago Tribune he was part of a group of graduate students at the University of Hawaii along with Barack Obama Sr. and Dunham who spent weekends listening to jazz, drinking beer and debating politics and world affairs.

Abercrombie is tied to the Marxist-oriented Democratic Socialists of America.

Obama Uses Recess Appointment To Seat Justice Dept. Official

President Obama used a recess appointment Wednesday to name James Cole as deputy attorney general.

The president also recess appointed five other officials, including four ambassadors.

Cole's nomination to the second-ranking post at the Department of Justice had been held up over objections from Republicans, who raised concerns over his tenure as an independent monitor of insurance giant AIG between 2005 and 2009. The federal government bailed out the company in 2008.

Republican senators also quibbled with a 2002 report that Cole wrote advocating civilian trials for terror suspects. Republicans have objected to trials in civilian courts for any of the detainees held in Guantanamo Bay as well as others accused of acts of terror.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) attempted to confirm Cole by unanimous consent during the lame-duck session, but GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) objected.

While the recess appointment allows Obama to fill a key spot at the Department of Justice, Cole will have to be renominated and confirmed by the end of the next session of Congress. That could be tougher given the larger GOP minority in the next Senate.

Poll: Public Favors GOP On Major Issues

A majority of Americans say that the GOP takeover of the House of Representatives is a good development, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll. They also like the Republican Party slightly more than they do President Barack Obama, and far more than the Democratic Party.

The poll also shows that while Obama remains personally popular, an increasing number of Americans are dubious about his ability to lead, and many are pessimistic about his ability to realize his policies.

Centuries-Old Column Installed At Miller Building

Some wags were expecting a bust of Senate President-for-life Mike Miller on the pedestal in the courtyard entrance to the building that bears his name. Instead, they might be surprised to find an artifact slightly older and drenched with as much history as Miller, who will begin a quarter-century as presiding officer in two weeks.

Last month, the capital (top) and base of a 190-year-old Latrobe column that once graced the demolished old Court of Appeals building was installed, putting the finishing touches on last year’s $468,000 renovation of the courtyard entrance to the William S. James and Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. Senate office buildings.


The final cost of cleaning, moving, and installing the column fragment was approximately $18,000, according to Victoria Gruber, Miller’s chief of staff.

Freak Carwash Accident Kills 1 Worker, Injures A 2nd

ROCKVILLE, Md. - A freak crash at the Flagship Carwash Center leaves one man dead and another severely injured.

The two workers ended up pinned underneath a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
 
The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday at the carwash on Hungerford Drive as another worker drove the customer's tan vehicle from the exit of the automated wash track to the drying area.
 
After the Jeep struck the employees, it dragged them across the road. The vehicle then struck a telephone pole support cable on the north side of Frederick Avenue.
 
Firefighters quickly freed the trapped men, but Hyattsville resident Gavino Euseda, 48, died shortly after being taken to Suburban Hospital, according to Montgomery County Police.
 
Police say Euseda was the second man struck by the vehicle. The first, Oscar Eusebio, 44, of D.C. remains in critical condition.

Why We Need An Elected Board of Ed in Wicomico County

As we await the posting of the agenda for the next meeting of the Wicomico County Council, I can only hope that discussion of an elected school board will make the agenda.  With the General Assembly convening in 13 days, and the deadline for bills in the Senate 37 days (without going through the Rules Committee), time is not a luxury for our newly elected council.

Wicomico County needs an elected school board.  We need the measure to appear on the 2012 ballot (so that we can elect a board in 2014 if the measure passes).  We also need to give the citizens of our county ample time to study and discuss the matter before it comes up on the ballot.

The case for an elected school board is a simple one:

• Accountability to the voters, rather than to politicians and bureaucrats.
  
• An incentive for fiscal responsibility, rather than the profligacy of our current system.
  
• Transparency, rather than hiding in the bureaucratic swamp.
  
• Building TRUST in a system that is currently broken.

ACCOUNTABILITY

An elected school board would be accountable to the voters of Wicomico County.  Currently, they are accountable only to the bureaucrats at the WCBOE, the Maryland State Board, and the Governor.  They are only accountable to the Governor to the extent that he could choose not to re-appoint them.

The bureaucrats may argue that the school board is not accountable to them.  In theory, this is correct.  However, in practice we see a different reality.  Bureaucrats guide board members through a maze and achieve their desired results by convincing even the best intentioned board member that only the bureaucrat approved action is the attainable or practical one.  Just as we have seen with the Wicomico County Council, an elected board would hopefully learn to stand up to the bureaucracy and demand sound, common sense solution to problems.

FISCAL RESONSIBILITY

Are you aware that there is no public hearing for the WCBOE’s budget?  Sadly, it’s true.  Sure, the WCBOE has what it CALLS a public hearing on the budget, but it is really nothing more than a forum for every special interest to come forward and ask that their pet programs be funded – or be increased in funding.  This so-called public hearing is actually held before the board’s budget is even drawn up.

After the county council adopts a budget, the WCBOE then goes back behind closed doors and completes their actual budget.  The council has no approval over the WCBOE’s actual budget – other than the total amount spent.  (We’ll mention this again when we discuss “Transparency”).

Under the current structure, board members are not beholding to the citizens of Wicomico County.  If we magically agreed to have our tax rates tripled and have it all to the WCBOE, they would be happy to spend it – like drunken sailors on liberty.

Why not?  The bureaucrats hold the collective ear of our current board.  Their desire is to spend, rather than educate.  An elected school board would (in all likelihood) be more conservative when spending the tax payers’ dollars.  They certainly wouldn’t be worse.

Why else would a board that claims to be broke, increase retiree health care benefits and just increased the county’s contribution to the retirement of their classified employees?

TRANSPARENCY

As noted above, the current system isn’t very transparent when it comes to the budget process.  County council members have had to jump through myriad hoops and even threaten litigation in order to receive information from the WCBOE as to how our money is spent.

Meetings aren’t even broadcast on PAC-14.  The board claims not to have the money!  Given what is wasted in one month, that shouldn’t be a problem.  The real reason is a simple one – the board, and the bureaucrats, don’t want the public to find out what they are doing.

A board that is elected, and therefore accountable, is far more likely to be more transparent.

TRUST

A recent spat occurred because Superintendant John Fredericksen tried to spend funds on projects BEFORE they were approved by the School Building Commission.  According to Supt. Fredericksen, there was nothing that needed to be considered so a December meeting of the commission wasn’t called.  When council members Gail Bartkovich and Joe Holloway called Fredericksen and the board out, they had to schedule an emergency meeting.  This is just a recent example.

Remember the “dirty book scandal”?  When it was discovered that wholly inappropriate material was available in an Elementary school library, Fredericksen and board member Mark Thompson told some whoppers.  Thompson’s little monologue in the Daily Times wound up being totally contradicted by the WCBOE’s own report on the matter.

These are just a couple of recent examples.  We shouldn’t ask our officials to be perfect.  We should, however, expect that they be truthful.  The crucible of the ballot box can help to ensure this.

A PANACEA?

Will having an elected school board be some “silver bullet” to fiscal sanity and a better education for our children?  No.  However, it should produce better results than the current system.

Sadly, not all of us want a first rate education for our county’s children.  Fortunately, I believe that vast majority of us do.  However, many of us want an educational system that focuses on the children rather than the bureaucracy.  An elected school board can help us do just that.

Where Things Stand: Gulf Oil Spill Claims

After the blowout of the Deepwater Horizon well triggered the largest oil spill in United States history, BP vowed to "Make it Right [1]" for Gulf Coast residents affected by the spill. One of the central pieces of BP's program to make amends was to create a claims system -- as required under federal law -- to compensate individuals and businesses that lost money as a result of the spill.

ProPublica has examined the claims process closely to see whether BP and the government are delivering on their promises to the Gulf residents. Although nearly $3 billion has been paid out to date, there have also been chronic delays and a lack of transparency about payment decisions that have caused frustration and in many cases serious economic hardship to claimants.

Huckabee Working With Scam Artist Notorious For Targeting Foreclosure Victims

Fox News personality and former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) recently began appearing in television commercials calling for viewers to dial a 1-800 number to sign a repeal petition against health reform called “Repeal It Now.” The ad, a “project of Restore America’s Voice” (RAV), a political action committee run by Huckabee’s friend Ken Hoagland, also directs viewers to a website that solicits donations. “Well now, we’ll do our spanking on the Congress,” says a cheerful Huckabee before claiming that Americans will “rule” again if the petitioned is signed.

Huckabee, who has a history of using his ubiquitous media presence to fundraise for political groups benefiting himself and his family, is again associating with a shady political venture. ThinkProgress has learned that Huckabee is working with a firm notorious for defrauding families facing foreclosure with false promises and predatory fees.

According to disclosures filed with the FEC, RAV’s campaign is managed by a firm called the 949 Media Group. 949 has been paid tens of thousands of dollars to set up RAV’s website and Google search optimization, and receives a regular commission of $10,000 for related media work from RAV. ThinkProgress spoke to a representative from RAV, who told us that 949 is run by an individual named Derek Oberholtzer. According to the representative, Oberholtzer has worked with RAV since the PAC formed in October.

End-of-Life Counseling Returns As Does "Death Panels" Nonsense

A proposed program to cover counseling sessions for seniors on end-of-life care has risen from the ashes of health care reform and found a new life in Medicare regulations, Jason Hancock of the American Independent reports.

In August, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin started a rumor via her Facebook page that the the Obama administration was backing "death panels" that would vote on whether the elderly and infirm had a right to live. In reality, the goal was to have Medicare reimburse doctors for teaching patients how to set up their own advance directives that reflect their wishes on end-of-life care.

Patients can use their advance directives to stipulate their wishes for treatment in the event that they are too sick to make decisions for themselves. They can also use those directives to demand the most aggressive lifesaving interventions.

Waste Not, Want Not

Though end-of-life counseling was ultimately gutted from the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the legislation will eventually ensure health coverage for 32 million more Americans. However, Joanne Kenen in The American Prospect argues it will do comparatively less to curb the high costs of health care. The architects of the ACA had an opportunity to include serious cost-containment measures like a robust public health insurance option to compete with private insurers, but they declined to do so.

End The Insurance Gap For People With Preexisting Conditions

For the 12.6 million Americans who have preexisting health care issues and have been turned down by insurance companies in the past three-plus years.

The good news: The health care reform law's stopgap Preexisting Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) program will get you to 2014, when discriminating by preexisting condition will be illegal.

The bad news: You have to put your health problems on hold for six months.

In 2014, it will be illegal to discriminate against any American who has a preexisting health condition when applying for health insurance. Since there are millions of Americans with preexisting conditions (over 57 million of us under the age of 65 - one in five of us), the health care law set up a high-risk pool in each state to allow those who have been turned down by insurance companies to buy insurance at a reasonable cost until the full enactment of the law in 2014. There were political fights about these pools - some people viewed them as a sneaky way to create a public option - and a recent Washington Post article suggests that there might not be enough money allocated to the programs. The states had a choice between creating the pools themselves or letting the government set them up, and the feds were pleased that they were able to set up all the pools within six months. But as of November 1, 2010, only a little more than 8,000 people have qualified for the pools.

One of the reasons that enrollment is so low could be that the law has a serious Achilles heel: You can't be accepted into the PCIP high-risk pool until you've gone six months without any health care.

Doctor Dies In Chimney Trying To Break Into Lover's Home

Dr Jacquelyn Kotarac suffocated after trying to slide down into house of estranged boyfriend, say California police.

A doctor whose decomposing body was found in a narrow chimney suffocated to death after trying to break into her boyfriend's home, California authorities said yesterday.

The body of Dr Jacquelyn Kotarac was discovered trapped in the chimney on Saturday – three days after she had apparently slid feet first down it into the house of her estranged lover, William Moodie.

According to police in Bakersfield, California, the 49-year-old doctor turned up at his house on the evening of Wednesday 25 August.

Moodie, however, did not want to see her. He left the house through the back door and spent the night elsewhere.

After apparently using a shovel to try to break in through the back door, police believe Kotarac climbed on to the roof with a ladder, removed the chimney cover and slid down the shaft.

Kotarac was reported missing on Thursday when she failed to show up for work, Sergeant Mary DeGeare of Bakersfield police said.

Her body was eventually discovered after a house-sitter noticed the smell coming from the fireplace.

Firefighters spent five hours demolishing the chimney so that they could extract the body, which was wedged about 2ft above the top of the interior fireplace opening.
