If you have the time, help those who need it most. Blankets, jackets, gloves, hats, food, whatever you can spare, let's help our local homeless people today.
This is an excellent post. On this very subject, does anyone know anything about the guy who sits with a sign across the street from the Tiger Mart on Autumn Grove (near Denny's and Wendy's)? It looks like it's his job and he has nice clothes. He's almost always there during daylight hours. I've wanted to give him money but I am not sure about him.
Second Chance Thrift Store in downtown Delmar is now accepting coats and will give them free to those that are in need. We also offer free bread on Tuesday and Thursday, donated by Panera Bread.
Anonymous 12:02 - You befuddle me. How can you know "these people" at all? There but for the grace of God go you, and I. Please lose your cynicism just a bit during this Christmas season and during this bitter cold. Why don't you help instead of hate?
7:49 More people should know that feeling --- they could then empathise & would not be so critical of others!!!
This weather is brutal---"Not fit for man or beast" as my father would have said-----Reach out----Help them---they are Human Beings & they are Cold & Hungry!
And speaking of "Man or Beast", Joe please remind people it Is Against The Law, according to Wicomico Countys revised Dog Laws ,to keep a dog out in Below Freezng Weather!! Please --- Be kind enough to report to the proper authorities should you see this !!!!! E. Walls

ReplyDeleteIf you want to give, give. It is between God and them if they are a liar. It's between you and God if you help the needy.

That's a joke I hope.
agreed 3:13 just, if you can, give and if you can't then pray for them
ReplyDeleteThey need to be taken from the streets and put where they can be looked after.

ReplyDeleteWhere might that be? Who would do that? Certainly not the city. We have seen how they treat the downtrodden.
I put a buck into the Salvation Army kettles every time I see one. It's not much but then I don't have much.
I know how it feels to be poor so I try to help whenever I can.
