Senate Advances Bill To Lift Military Gay Ban

63-33 vote all but guarantees passage of legislation overturning 17-year 'don't ask, don't tell' rule that banned openly gay troops from serving.

  1. Years from now it will make no difference and we will wonder what all the fuss was about. Young people will be astonished when you tell them that people were kicked out of the military for being gay. Their response will pure disbelief that it happened in the United States.
