At 5:00 PM tonight Team Guerrero, the Main Street Gym and Prize Fight Promotions announced Fernando Guerrero will defend his Championship Belt in February at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. One thing I can tell you is, his opponent is the toughest he's ever faced and Guerrero will be the Main Event.
Also, ESPN has chosen Salisbury to be the first ever in history to deliver the very first professional boxing match in 3-D.
More to come......
Will we be blacked out for this 3d fight here in SBY?
ReplyDeleteWho is the opponent?
ReplyDeleteSaul Roman 32-8, 27 ko's
ReplyDeleteWhat difference does it make if it is blacked out, any idiot that would sit home to watch this when they could be there for a couple bucks. might as well watch I love Lucy re-runs. Wake up dude.
ReplyDeleteI plan to be there. I just did some checking on Roman, and if Fernando can get pass him there should be a big money fight (i.e. world title shot) very soon. Roman has power and has won his last four fights. However, he has not fought in 2010 (so there may be some rust, or perhaps he is coming off an injury). To have the chance to see this level of sports competition in our hometown is awesome. Be there or be square!
ReplyDeleteRoman is guy that upset former world champion Kassim Ouma. He's a good, but not great boxer.
ReplyDeleteAHH! so excited!
ReplyDeleteHow do we get tix? Nothing on Civic Center website yet.
ReplyDeleteJoe, Thanks for arranging this fight and having it broadcast on ESPN.
ReplyDeleteRoman has 3 fights in 2010, all losses. Has been in the ring with very good fighters, took Yuri Foreman the limit which is no small feat. Lost to Rosado, who Fernando dismantled. Several years ago he may have been competition, but at age 30 with 6 losses in his last 11 fights he poses no threat to the unblemished record. His skillset will help FG work on his defense, which right now is where the work is needed. FG by KO in 7! Go Fernando we are all behind you!!
