It won't come as a surprise to its users who have had to deal with dropped calls and poor customer service, but AT&T ranked dead last in a new Consumer Reports survey of wireless carriers.
That is why I didn't buy the iPhone. I tried holding out as long as I could for Verizon to get the iPhone and it never happened so I invested in a Droid!!
No doubt in my mind! I've had ATT for 6 years with no problems, yet the past 3 months have been nothing but problems. My phones were shut off twice due to "accidental error" then I was told I would have to pay reconnections fees of $35 per phone even though the disconnect was no fault of my own! I argued the point for a good 15 minutes, it wasn't until I told them to shut the phones off for good I would switch to another carrier that they decide to waive the fees. After all that drama I received a $365 bill claiming I was over on allowed minutes and all of my roll over minutes (over 900 of them) had expired the previous month even though there was nothing stating I had minutes about to expire. I switched plans for more minutes and the new plan should have cost $110 total yet I got another bill over $350, with no overages and apparently that new plan has 1000 minutes too much since that is my new rollover balance. Oh yes and we were charged for web access when we never use the web on our phones! It wasn't much, only $2, but the point is we do not use the internet on the phones so there should be $0 for that.
I am done with ATT one phone contract is up in January and the other I will eat the early termination fee. 6 yr customer is out the door come January.
That's funny, I've had AT&T since I got my first cell phone 10 years ago, when they were Cingular. I've had NO problems with service or the phones. I will say this...my friends tell me all the time "if you were on Verizon, we could talk for free". Why would I want to be on Verizon when every time I drive by the store, it's full of people obviously having problems with their phones or their service?! Back when I got my first phone, Verizon was demanding a $300.00 security deposit even though I wanted to pay a whole year of the contract up front in CASH. I went to Cingular and had the phone and contract the same day with no deposit and no out of pocket money at all!
I've had AT&T and Verizon and Verizon is by far the worst. Talk about lack of customer service. You are just a number to them. Try going into the store up north. When you finally get someone to wait on you, they act like they could care less if you were there or not. I don't think any of them are perfect-you just have to find a happy medium.

ReplyDeleteI have the iPhone with ATT and have had relatively and I've been a customer with them since Cellular One, Cingular, and now ATT.
ReplyDeleteI did have a problem with my voice mails not getting to me about a month ago, but ATT fixed it right away - just needed to update my software.

ReplyDeleteQuit crying idiots. If you don't like the service, don't use a cell phone.
