Boda, Less Taxes & Strengthened Religious Believe Will Save City Of Salisbury

Muir Boda is on the Advisory Board for the Java Hut, (ROTFLMAO) and helps manage WalMart. While I was reading today's article in the Daily Times I couldn't help but think, this guy wants to tell others how to solve crime issues as well. Let's see, if I were a betting man I'd have to say that WALMART has to be the #1 crime location in the entire City, tying up incredible man power from the Salisbury Police department. Yeah, we need to take advice from this guy.

Faith based community, eh? Let me see Muir Boda, is that a Muslim name? Many wouldn't want to get snuffed a second time. You know, Obama and all that. Do you believe in a woman's right to choose? I'd just like to know UP FRONT this time exactly what FAITH you're talking about.

Don't forget who his best buddies are as well. Jonathan Taylor, Julie Brewington, Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart, Gary Comegys, Shanie Shields, Louise Smith and of course old Barrie Tilghman.

Muir Boda will lose this election miserably because of his clear and obvious ties with the above names.  Nice enough guy mind you, but an agenda so clear it isn't funny. Salisbury needs real change Muir. Not the same old crap the former Tilghman administration spewed and shoved down every ones throats in the past that got the taxpayers into such a jam financially.

Flat out, Salisbury needs a majority Council that it hasn't had in many years. The direction Tilghman, Dunn, Cathcart, Comegys, Shields, Smith and yes, even Ireton is the WRONG direction. Unless the taxpayers of Salisbury are just flat out stupid, change will in fact come about and the Tilghman/Comegys/Smith days are over.

Muir Boda is NOT one of those fit to sit with the new majority Council. In fact he's the opposite of what Salisbury wants or needs. NEXT!

  3. Why not just let the voters decide and stop with the personal attacks.

  4. I love how he said the council should work with the schools on what they teach. Really? The schools have to teach according to the state curriculum and soon to a national curriculum. When will the schools have time to teach what Mr. Boda thinks they should teach? If I'm not mistaken Walmart is responsible for the loss of many jobs in Salisbury and the demise of downtown businesses. Sorry Mr. Boda you've been bloggeed before and will be blogged again.

  5. anonymous 11:11, the voters WILL decide. OIn the mean time, Salisbury News will expose things for what they are and educate the public as to whom they're dealing with.

    More to come......

By the way. I received a call in reference to Boda's religion and my posting such information. I'll state it again. I am questioning his beliefs because HE exposed such in the Daily Times. I did not say he was a muslim, I simply asked if he is.

  6. I don't care what his religion is, he is aligned with the wrong people. His election would ensure more gridlock and fighting on the Council.

  7. Let it be known that this man will not get elected because of the company he keeps. We'll never go back there again.

Good management and honest government will, and those not looking to fill there own pockets with tax payers money.

  16. Laura Mitchell needs to be DOA, she is part of Ireton's push to line the city council with commie progressives. As far as Muir is concerned, I have one question, what religion is he? I heard he was a devil worshipper.

Again Muir, who or what do you worship?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Everyone should leave off the personal attacks.

That said, anyone who tries to sell how religious they are, DON'T VOTE FOR THEM!

Barrie Tilghman and Louise Smith liked to go on and on about their "faith," and look at the unholy things we got out of them!

  19. Mitchell files for Salisbury City Council

SALISBURY — Laura Mitchell, a local volunteer and former educator, has filed for the District 2 seat on the City Council.

According to her website, Mitchell is a Salisbury native who holds degrees in business administration and accounting. She has taught accounting and related courses at the college level, and is a CPA candidate. Mitchell says her experience in accounting, as well as her knowledge of the budget process and municipal financial operations, will serve as a valuable contribution to the city.

    ------------

"a local volunteer and former educator"

This reeks of Obama, O'Malley, Ireton and Chuck Cook!

Wasn't Obama a "local volunteer," a "Community Organizer."

If Salisbury was smart they would run as far away from this woman as they possibly can.

  20. Don't care about Boda one way or another but I do have to comment on a post here. To 1:07, well you certainly have raised a little lady haven't you?? Maybe you better focus on your parenting skills and stay out of politics all together. The worst thing? You're proud of the little nasty mouth, shameful!

  22. Darn you, Joe! You made me go and read the Daily Times!

That article screams, "Hi, I'm an idiot and I'm running for office."

Look at his stance on crime:
"Criminals know no boundaries. We see a lot of outside interference from the county and other states, like Delaware," he said. "If the city worked with the Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, we could combat crime together."

D'oh! Does this clueless man not know that the SPD, WSCO and MSP have been working together since Ivan Barkley was named Acting Chief? Who does he think has been catching the murderers and robbers that we're reading about all the time? The press releases are posted right here on SBYNews and since Allan "I can do it all myself" Webster left, our men and women in blue have been kickin' butt!

What an uninformed yahoo. Maybe if he read the dreaded SBYNews, he'd know what's going on. But Bubba told him not to, so he followed his master's voice.

    Thanks for reading SBYNews.com.

  27. Funny how there are no comments on the DT page for the story about Boda. Are they not allowing any, or are people just not commenting on it? Hard to believe nobody has commented, although I haven't tried myself.

  28. Ireton is trying to get rid of Terri Cohen now who was one of his biggest supporters. He has gone around and asked several people to run for the District 2 seats. People he thinks he can control. Lame Ass Democrats never the less.

Ireton's prospective candidates for the District 2 seat are Susan Carey, Chuck Cook and Laura Mitchell.

Run as far as you can from these clueless individuals.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sorry Joe, but I have to disagree with you and most of the commenters on this one. First of all, Muir is fine, upstanding person. He's an active member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and devotes a lot of his time to youth and mission trips. BTW - the Java Hut Cafe that you find so amusing is also part of ORBC. Criticizing him because of his comments regarding faith based initiatives is similar to the fools who attack Joe Albero because he cut a check to the Salvation Army or gave away turkey at Christmas.

For purposes of full disclosure, Muir is from Tilghman - as my family is. His adopted grandfather, Rev. Alex Boda, served as the pastor at my family's church for many years while I was growing up.

I know that Muir appears to be allied with SAPOA, and Gary Comegys, on many issues. To the extent that he is, it is because of his Libertarianism. However, I haven't seen any evidence that he is allied Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart, Louise, et al, other than being friendly. Hell, I'm friendly with Comegys.

As for those who think that Laura Mitchell is a grand alternative, I trust you think that Jim Ireton deserves a rubber stamp on council. Ms. Mitchell, along with the expected candidacy of Jacob Day, will be nothing more than tree hugging rubber stamps for Ireton. I'm sure that will attract new business to Salisbury. I'm just curious as to who the third wheel in Jim's plan for Hope and Change turns out to be.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 4:44, you missed Jacob Day. He is also on Ireton's short list. So, Boda = SAPOA, and Mitchell and Day = a rubber stamp for anything Ireton advances. Lovely, just lovely. I have also heard the name of Richard Insley (the younger) disucssed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jim Ireton used Terry Cohen's reputation just like Louise Smith did. She flat out told people in my neighborhood she was aligned with Terry Cohen and Debbie Campbell.

Ireton slaps Terry Cohen in meetings but when he has one of his press opps, he drops her name like she endorses everything he does. One look at her votes tells you that's not true.

Thanks for the disclosure, G.A., but Muir Boda will not have my vote. His last campaign was all about bashing Debbie Campbell. He had nothing to offer but saying the same things about her Gary Comegys did. We don't need echoes on that council. Not saying he's a bad person, but he strikes me as a say what you want to here politician.

I don't know these other people, but I will look very, very hard at who I vote for after the deceiving we got from Louise Smith and Jim Ireton. The only one I can go for right now is Terry Cohen. She has been true to her word.

  32. So, 2:34, being a volunteer and former educator reeks of Obama? I, too, am a former educator (now retired) and a very active volunteer. I do not know Laura Mitchell, but her credentials sound solid. I do work with Muir Boda on an anti-crime task force, and I supported him in his 2010 run for City Council. I think he would be a good addition to the Council. Tim Spies of the Camden Association is another very credible candidate. It is time, I think, to shake the City Council up. We need a Council who can work with the mayor and get things accomplished. Is the problem chiefly the mayor? We'll have two more years to assess that; then, if we think he's more of a problem than a solution, we can vote him out.

    ReplyDelete
  33. G.A., it's listed just above who the potential 3rd wheel will be. Ireton has asked Chuck Cook and Susan day to run for city council.

Jim Ireton's actions on trying to stack the city council with his rubber stamps is the same dirty politics that Barrie Tilghman played with the 3 stooges(the Dream Team) of Comegys, Dunn and Cathcart. Jim is obviously from the same mold and Barrie. Heck, I would even venture a guess that Barrie is Jim Ireton in drag!

"I do work with Muir Boda on an anti-crime task force."

That would be Lousie Smith's little group. So much for G.A.'s thought that Boda isn't connected to Louise.

The council needs a shake up all right, but it's not to ditch Cohen as 7:21 would obviously like. For her, it would be put Spies in Cohen's place in the hapless position of being on the lousy end of a 3 to 2 vote. More of the same, Salisbury, more of the same.

What we have shaping up here is SAPOA's picks, Ireton's picks and those who will be for us -- you know, We the People?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Is Ireton's attempt to "stack" the City Council with his picks "dirty politics" or smart politics? While the two branches, Legislative and Executive, are designed to be separate, it is clear that, for anything to be accomplished, the mayor has to have three Council members who will help him achieve his goals. Gary Comegys' long illness has resulted in too many stalemates. The only way to move forward is to have a 3-2 majority on the Council. If I were mayor, I would probably want to stack the Council my way, too; otherwise, how will much of anything be accomplished? If we don't like the way the mayor is going, we can take care of that in the election process.

  37. 9:05, I understand you point, but you forget one thing: Jim Ireton got elected for promises he made and gone back on. He used people to get where he is. Many of us feel like we did after the Real Louise Smith stood up.

I don't know about you, but I'm kinda picky about what "things" get accomplished. Barrie Tilghman accomplished a lot of "things" and what we got was a Fire Palace. Ireton could have vetoed the old fire station giveaway, but he didn't.

A strong sensible council is what we need, not more Mayor's Puppets. Things will get accomplished unless Ireton wants to go down as "#1 in Vetoes." Maybe we'll even see things get done the way they were promised.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm not going to bash anybody, just going to tell it like it is.

    Here's where I stand:

Terry Cohen has done a stand up job and deserves to be re-elected. If she had been president of the council or Debbie Campbell had been and Louise Smith hadn't been what she turned out to be, things would be really different.

I met Tim Spies and voted for him last time. Regardless of who else runs, he's got my vote. What you see is what you get with him.

Boda, not going to happen for me. He lost me when he went after Debbie Campbell for her No votes and couldn't say what he'd vote differently for. Thank God for all of Debbie Campbell's No votes, or we'd be worse off than we are. I say this without knowing Debbie Campbell more than what I see on PAC14.

My third vote is up for grabs. It will not go to anybody carrying water for landlords or giveaways to business buddies or building palaces. If no one like that files, then maybe I'll write myself in rather than carry the guilt of putting someone like Louise Smith in.

  39. How is involving religion in politics in ANY way Libertarian? Also, Libertarians, of which Mr. Boda is a state officer are pro-choice, pro-pot and pro-gay. They are liberal on social issues and conservative on fiscal policy.

  40. Crime here and bad neighborhood there. yada yada yada.

1 point real Americans care about, keeping taxes low and the real business in Salisbury happy. If he is against those in either way, he gets no vote.

  41. keep all religion out of government.12:01 PM
Better change the Constitution if that's what you want. As Americans, we are allowed "Freedom OF Religion", not "Freedom FROM Religion". Go start your own country and print "in nothing we trust" on your money, I'll stay here with "God" printed on mine.

  42. Religion and politics... back to the dark ages Salisbury goes. Come on people, we need an intelligent business mind who is fiscally responsible to be a leader in this town. Vote for someone who will lead for all, not just a chosen few.

    ReplyDelete
  43. LadyLiddy, that's why I support Terry Cohen. She is fiscally responsible and has worked with big and small companies. Just common sense. Funny, some of the good ole boys of business here want to paint her as not friendly to business. Not true. She just doesn't buy into their croneyism and giveaway-the-store mentality. I don't think we even have a real business voice here. When the city hit us with that outrageous tax hike, those Chamber of Commerce folks said nothing.
