THANK YOU!
In my previous Post I purposely didn't mention these two fine gentlemen because I felt they deserved their own Post of thanks.
Chief Ivan Barkley and Chief Rick Hoppes stepped in to replace two former Chief's that left behind the lowest morale the City has ever seen in both departments.
Did we see a bunch of people quit their jobs because these two were hired to fill those shoes, NO. In fact, the Mayor even received a letter from the majority of Police Officers supporting Chief Barkley to become the permanent Police Chief.
I want to thank these fine men for their work and dedication to the City, the citizens and the fine men and women, (brothers and sisters) who work for these departments. We're even more grateful you've chosen to stick around.
AMEN
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree with you. Hoppes is not a fine man and didn't deserve to be the acting chief. If you only heard what he and his cronies say about you the feeling would be different.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have never had the opportunity to meet Ivan Barkley but from what I have read, he was doing a fine job even knowing the the top position would not be his. Hopefully the new chief will follow in the tradition of past Chief, Coulborne Dykes who I had the privilege of knowing as a LEO. She has a tough row to hoe as they say. Help her out, Ivan. jackkcharl@aol.com
ReplyDeleteRick Happes is a fine individual with wonderful morals. I commend Rick for sticking around, he deserved Kudos!!
ReplyDeletethink it's great that you remembered to recognize these two men. They served their departments so well!
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:33 PM and 6:07 AM did you notice Joe's article didn't mention anything about the men and women at the SFD supporting Hoppes? The difference between Hoppes and Barkey is the men of the SPD supported Ivan Barkley and NO ONE at the SFD supported Rick Hoppes.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately Hopeless and Gordo are still in power at the Salisbury Fire Department with the new so called chief and they are collectively continuing to run the department into the ground.
