Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On November 11, 2010 at approximately 9:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Safe Streets Unit were on routine patrol in the area of Beaglin Park Drive and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, the suspect exited the vehicle and the officers observed a quantity of suspected marijuana near the driver’s seat. The vehicle was checked further and the officers found additional quantities of suspected marijuana in the vehicle’s console and beneath the passenger seat, along with a set of weighing scales.


ARRESTED: Derrick Irwin Knox, 31 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Possession of marijuana with int. to distribute
Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/paraphernalia (2 counts)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On November 12, 2010 at approximately 9:52 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Safe Streets Unit were on routine patrol in the area of Records Street and observed the below listed suspect trespassing on posted property on East Church Street. The suspect was approached and fled from the area on foot. The suspect was apprehended and during a search of the suspect’s person, incident to arrest, the officers recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana from the suspect’s pants pocket.

ARRESTED: Juvenile, 15 years of age

CHARGES: Trespassing
Possession of marijuana

DISPOSITION: Released to parent

On November 12, 2010 approximately 10:17 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant for an attempted robbery that took place in Salisbury on November 9. Salisbury Detectives received the arrest warrant for the suspect following his identification as a participant in the attempted robbery of the Karemore Pharmacy on Snow Hill Road. The suspect is the final of three (3) suspects charged with the attempted robbery.

On November 14, 2010 at approximately 12:03 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the 300 block of Barclay Street for the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, the officers found that the below listed suspect had assaulted an adult female family member while traveling in a vehicle and then after arrival at the residence. The suspect struck the female in the facial area a number of times. The victim did not require medical attention.

ARRESTED: Daniel Leroy Carmean, 42 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Second degree assault
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking
