Obamacare

Joe,

Thanks to Obamacare and the mandates placed upon insurance companies by this failed plan, my insurance renewal has increased more than 20%. So I can choose to pay the increase or choose an insurance plan that doesn't cover my insurance needs. Hey....I could always go on the State plan for free right? No thanks. I'd rather pay my own way. Thanks Obama, you monumental failure.

  1. The State Plan is not free. The cost is equal to a standard group plan. You could possibly qualify for a discount if you have a low income level, but you still have to pay for it.

  2. mandates like not turning sick peopel down for insurance? And how sure are you that the increase was really caused by a mandate and not already scheduled in the first place?

  3. As an employer, I have seen insurance rates go up year after year at least 20%. This has nothing to do with the new healthcare law.

  4. Prepare yourselves...Obamacare is coming for one and all!

I'm having an issue with Comcast. They are not living up to their contract with me. I would LOVE to fire them and go somewhere else but I need the higher speed internet service for business purposes. All I can think about is this is what will happen when we all are herded into Obama care. When you can't get satifaction on a problem, you will have no other options available to you.

  5. Thank you 10:16. I wonder if anyone will actually rebut your comment with something besides "you're a socialist Obama loving commie"

  6. My insurance premiums just raised and coverage went down. We used to have copays with no deductible, but now there is a $1500 deductible (family) and no copay. This may work for the people that run to the doctor every time they get the sniffles but for someone, like me, that only goes if I need to go this stinks! That means I am paying $3720 a yr to the insurance company plus an additional $1500 out of pocket before they even start to cover anything so I am losing out big time! It would be much cheaper to just drop the insurance coverage and pay out of pocket, but then I have to worry about if I have some sort of serious injury or illness.

  7. You people still don't get it do you?
Your increases and changes have NOTHING to do with Obama Care.
Your insurance company is using it as just another excuse to raise your rate or change your plan!
They can do that now since they're not regulated, but you wanted deregulation, remember?

  8. A single payer system would have eliminated the middleman (insurance companies)and that money would have gone to care not profits.

  9. Remember Pelosi said we have to pass the bill to see what was in it.
    Surprise!
As they say about a cabinet assembly on This Old House
    "Screwed"

  10. We were dropped by United Health Care after paying 1000/month for the last 5 years with NO major claims or health problems. They said they are no longer going to offer policies to individual families (we are self employed and have to buy our own). Don't you dare try to say this has nothing to do with oblahblah.

  12. I DO dare say it has nothing to to with Obama! Wake up!
Every time you turn around insurance companies are raising rates for whatever reason they can find.
Want to know why your car insurance is so high? Floods - namely Katrina. When Katrina happened, they raised auto rates because of all the claims.
    Homeowners insurance - same thing!
Hurricanes, snowstorms, tropical storms - every time there's a major weather event - homeowners policy rates go up.
Stop blaming everything on ONE person and use your head!
The insurance companies are allowed to do whatever they want - there's nobody going to stop them because they're in the pockets of all the high and mighty politicians!

  13. Thanks to Healthcare Reform my rates went up 25.5% for 2011. Insurance works based on a premium paid based on the risk prior to the Government changing the rules. Now we ALL will pay more so high risk people get coverage for less. It is a slippery slope to nationalized healthcare and elminating insurance companies who are already being demonized for making a profit. Just hold up your sign that says Help Me and see how fast Big Brother can come to your aid.
