Mayor Ireton, YOU Are Out Of Control!!!!!!!!

TO: Mrs. Adams, President, Salisbury Area Property Owners Association FROM: Mayor James Ireton, Jr. RE: Third Friday Encounter with Mr. Adams DATE: November 22, 2010 On Friday, November 19, 2010, which is Salisbury’s Third Friday celebration I had an unfortunate incident involving your husband. Though your husband is entitled to his opinion regarding the relationship that you, as SAPOA’s president, have with the City of Salisbury, I encourage you to suggest to him that it was very clear to witnesses that he was very aggressive and threatening in his approach. I attempted to calm him and suggested that the Third Friday celebration was neither the time nor place for the discussion, but to no avail. Eventually his yelling became unintelligible, yet he did manage to say something about wanting to defend the honor of yourself, and Council President Louise Smith. I, still, am unclear about what he meant.

In the end though, I would appreciate that your family members only contact me on a professional basis and in writing. I have always had pleasant encounters with your daughter and I hope that continues.

The battle for the integrity of Salisbury’s neighborhoods is a policy and political struggle. What your husband did at Third Friday was make it personal. Salisbury deserves better than this. Please extend to Mr. Adams, my clear determination that the incident not happen again without my reporting it to the proper authorities. With your understanding of this, I consider the matter over, done and behind us.

With kind regards,

James Ireton, Jr.

Mayor, City of Salisbury

NOW, the idea that Mayor Ireton is trying to come off innocent here has pissed me off more than ANYTHING I have seen in many years. At the Mayor's Round Table Meeting last week the Mayor went on a verbal attack against Mrs. Adams that was so brutal, I'm amazed Mrs. Adams did not file charges against Mayor Ireton. Mayor Ireton has verbally attacked Louise Smith as well as other FEMALE Council Women.

Mr. Adams simply told the Mayor, PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE, BULLY. Clearly, just because Ireton is Mayor, he thinks he can do whatever he likes, especially to WOMEN.

Mrs. Adams, file those charges against Mayor Ireton. You have plenty of witnesses, (including a Police Officer) and your charges will stick.

Mayor Ireton, cut the crap! No one is buying your innocence here and Mr. Adams was simply defending his Wife. Maybe one day when YOU get married you'll know how to do so.

  1. Why not address the later to Mr Adams? Does he think Mrs. Adams has control over her husband. Sounds like he's just a wuss if you ask me *Ireton I mean* waaaa waaa waaaa your husband is picking on me make him stop. If Ireton has a problem with someone ADDRESS that person. Mr and Mrs Adams are grown adults neither can control the other.

  3. I was not at the roundtablemeeting NOR did i witness the 3rd Friday incident. But i can tell you that i know Mr. Adams quite well the mayor must have treated Kris poorly for Kevin to confront him about it. Kevin is far from a confrontational person and would give you the shirt off his back.

Mayor Ireton really should get his attitude in check or his political career will be short lived one (if it isn't already).

  8. Kevin Adams is the most relaxed guy I know (and does great work) The Mayor is a conceited ..... who does not understand people, business or possess management skills. Mr. Adams simply asked you to back down & your pompous attitude tends to make people go bezerk. I would have punched you in the nose had you treated my wife in the same manner as you did Mrs. Adams. The next election cannot come soon enough.

  9. Funny, You should hear the way jim talks to city employees! I guess jim doesn't like a taste of his own medicine! Hey jim, those employees you talk down to constantly have family, and that family has friends and word gets around; be prepared for more of the same!

  10. Talking down to people is not good for morale. Guess he's used to talking to kids all day?

Ditto for me -- after Barrie and now Jim-Beau a city manager (appointed by the Council) would be a much better form of government.

  12. Either power got to his head, or he simply can't handle the pressure and he aint cut out for the job. He needs to be replaced because the man is becoming more irrational and more obscene each passing day!

  13. Joe, let us know what was said between you and Mayor Ireton after your portion of the PUBLIC COMMENT ended. For those of us watching on PAC14, it could not be heard. He seemed a little irritated to say the least.

  14. Pitiful. Here you all are airing Salisbury dirty laundry for all the world to see. Pitiful. You people call yourself adults and leaders of this city. This is down right pitiful. I feel sorry for the citizens of Salisbury and Wicomico County.

  15. If the job paid $100,000 I would run for Mayor. Yes it can be done. Get rid of the city executive(John Pick) and the assistant city executive(Lore Chambers)and BAM!! there you have it. A full time mayor with a full time salary is a possibility and should be considered.

The council/manager form of government doesn't always work. Look at Wicomico County, they just went to a strong executive form of government.

Right now all you get are mayor wannabe's who happen to be housewives, retired people with nothing else to do and lousy school teachers. Not much to chose from.

  16. Mrs. Adams you did a great job tonight. I loved how you said the Salisbury was a city not a kingdom. The "acting" Mayor seems to of forgotten how none of us are beneath him or his loyal subjects. I wonder if had the nerve to try to say something to you as he did to Joe once Joe had his back turned. Can't wait to hear what was said between those two men.

  17. Wow! Well that's the "Adams Family" I know... Kris runs her mouth and gets the pot started and big bad Kevin has to defend her honor! What a joke! Kris knows what she doing. She has a habbit of getting herself in way over her head, Kevin seems to be defending her honor more and more lately. This whole story is like a bad reveiw of jr high school!

Are you trying to say Joe is not a man?

Ireton is less than a man. Like someone mentioned earlier he is nothing more than a glorified office girl!!
