Jimmy's Grill In Salisbury Closes Their Doors

One individual told me they actually saw a rat running across the floor and into the kitchen.

All I can tell you is, their doors are closed.

  1. good bye - you will NOT be missed. Years ago when it was Flannery's it was pretty decent but the new owners ran it into the ground. No parking, urine stench from the rear of the building, unsavory "citizens" bumping around downtown were also contributors to its demize. Won't be missed. Just another example how much the "downtown" area is dead except for court/legal business. It never will be what it was in the "good ole days" so stop the Urban Salisbury trainwreck and other government efforts to make something out of nothing.

  3. went there a few times. roof leaked. cold inside. owner walked around talking to customers. staff was fine. they did the best they could with what they had to work with.

it needed to close so someone who could really offer a service could do business and actually please their customers.

  4. To 1:46 PM:

Agreed; However, If Urban Salisbury would make a proposal like Joe Albero mentioned a long time ago, as to the fund-ability to the area of downtown Salisbury, I think it could work... If they made a proposal just like Walt Disney did when he bought like 100 acres of marsh land that had no building envelope, brought in the necessary materials to make the land usable, then told companies that wanted to be in his park, that they have to pay for everything from the parcel of land from him up to getting the building in place through to the merchandise in the windows... Look how well all have done...

    P.S.

For those who don't understand, The reason be hind this is becasue Urban Salisbury has no funds or can not gain funds to revitalize the downtown area... This would have it paid for by the retailers who want to be down here...

  5. Jimmy's food was good and desserts great. The city bus station killed them. We would not go at night due to the neighborhood.
Urban Salisbury is failing because their leader is ineffective. Find a motivated leader for Urban Salisbury and stop the shuttering of our downtown.

  6. 2:41 PM I agree the food was good but Jimmy was nasty and unsanitary. No telling what kind of germs and insects we consumed.

  7. I remember when Jimmy's Grille was in Bridgeville. He got busted for harboring and marrying an illegal alien, selling deer meat to the school district as beef, and sewage problems. He also had a problem with hiring illegal aliens as well.

  8. The last time I ate at Jimmy's Grill in Bridgeville the booths were dirty and the window sills were loaded with dead flys. Did I mention that was the last time I ate at Jimmy's Grill!

  9. I second the comment about the leader from Urban Salisbury. Put the bus terminal somewhere else, and also move the bus stop from the Library. Put a police substation downtown and make it a tax free zone for a period of years.

Jimmy's deserts were great. Food was overpriced for this economy.

  11. I think Jimmy was recently convicted of felony mortgage fraud in Delaware.
Don't know if he still owned this property or not, but he may be in jail.

  12. If any of you think this is the only restaurant in town wit rats in the kitchen you are sadly mistaken. Name your favorite place to eat and they have some sort of rodents or insects in the kitchen. Ask any pest control tech.

  13. With the theater gone, if they knocked this rathole down, too, you could build something pretty nice on that corner.

  14. If I were a pest control person I would not say if someone had a roach or mouse..it is their paid job to get rid of such a menance.Just because a place "Looks Like" it has mice or roaches does not say they do. So be very careful what you say it could ruin a perfectly good business.

  19. What in the world is wrong with people. Why must everyone be so nasty with their comments. People ask questions and get attacked.
6:17 there was no reason for you to jump down someones throat for asking a question. People need to relax. If you are this hostile on a blog how are you on the street. Ease up some. People have different opinions and ask questions. That is the way some learn. They don't need to be attacked for asking a question.
