Worcester County States Attorney Joel Todd Caught Red Handed In Misleading Public

Worcester County States Attorney Joel Todd sent out multiple mailers last week implying certain Officials and prominent community leaders supported and or endorsed Joel Todd for States Attorney. This couldn't be further from the truth. At least three of these individuals have come forward in anger flat out stating Joel Todd was not at all truthful.

The photos used in the mailers had absolutely nothing to do with Joel Todd's run for re-election. They were general photos from different events where these people just happened to be in the picture.

The Worcester County Republican Central Committee will be holding a Press Conference tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM to bring these facts to the public attention immediately. What Todd has done has to be one of the most outrageous acts ever seen here on the Eastern Shore, especially coming from a States Attorney.

Todd must be pretty desperate to pull such a stunt at the last minute but it is my guess this will be the final straw in his campaign. Chief of Police Arnold Downing was also removed as one of the Worcester County Board of Elections Judges because Todd used one of these images stating he was in support of Joel Todd, yet again, it was a general photo and had nothing to do with supporting Todd.

We will provide the list of names of those used in Todd's mailer after the Press Conference tomorrow. Candidate Beau Oglesby has not been available for a comment as of this moment but I'm confident his campaign staff and he are outraged, as should be the citizens of Worcester County.

Look for Todd to backstep on this one as he has been caught red handed and this stunt will without a doubt backfire. More to come....

  1. This is SOP for Todd. Misleading the public and playing with the truth are the tools he uses. Why? He's got nothing else. Just last month he failed to file the paperwork to seize a drug dealers assets thus forcing the sheriffs department to return money and property to a convicted criminal!
Todd is a failure and the citizens of Worcester County are tired of it!

Look for Todd to start chasing ambulances in December.

  2. Joel Todd,
This is unforgiveable. You must explain or forfeit your run for election

  3. This is the real Joel Todd....uses aquaintences with people to manipulate situations to his benefit. Guess it back-fired this time...... This is not his first rodeo with being dishonest and manipulative

  4. And why is Paula Young on the radio ads endorsing Todd?

Also, we need to know ALL the facts about Todd.

  5. "Let he without sin cast the first stone." Seriously, Craig Theobald, why did you have to leave a police department in CA? C'mon...be honest now.

Beau's background is not without shadows either. We have all done something we would not want our mothers to know about.

  6. I received the mailer and did think some of these so call supporters weren't supporters at all. Where is the press conference?

  7. People really need to look at the big picture here. The top law enforcement official utilizing pictures WITHOUT the authority of said individuals approval for his own political gain. This reeks of unethical behavior. No thank you. My vote is for Beau Oglesby after this.

  9. I think just knowing all the support from the local police depts in the area says it all! BEAU doesnt NEED this job, Worcester Co citizens NEED BEAU! He has what it takes and working with the police to keep criminals off the street is what this county needs.

Beau has my vote and im not afraid to say, I voted for Joel that last time, but not this time. Joel has tried but didnt succeed. There is nothing wrong with his attempts, however, times have changed and it has outgrown Joel. Time for change, time to take back our streets, time for a new States Atty!!!

  10. Yes Craig, I didn't think you would have the stones to admit why you left.

Trust me...the whisper campaign works just as well about you also. It's known in the county why you "had" to leave. You call it retirement? Good for you Craig....good for you. Go with that.

  11. Reggie Mason was doing the same thing on his webpage and got called out on it. In fact, the whole Sheriff's primary was a mess with lies and misrepresentations. Marty Pusey told tall tales about her opponents. McDermott is under a constant cloud. No one seemed to care. What is in the water in Worcester County?

  12. The sad part is that an election judge has been removed from his post because of Mr. Todd's blatant disrespect for people's wishes. Enough is enough Worcester County-vote for Beau Oglesby!

  13. Actually Anon 8:34, it was Beau Oglesby who "demanded" that Arnold be removed. Call Patti Jackson in the Board of Election office and ask.

Beau didn't trust him and had him removed, not Mr. Todd. I guess that is how Beau is going to thank the various FOP's for their endorsement?

Please. Inexperience is what this amounts to. He should have left Arnold alone. Arnold won't forget what Beau has done to him. Trust me, he won't forget.

So he had a Judge of Elections removed, owes a Berlin Businessman several thousand dollars and this is who you want in the State's Attorney Office? Really?

What does Beau bring to the table that is new? Nothing! Nothing at all.

Lastly....why does he hide the fact that he spent two years as a DEFENSE ATTORNEY placing the bad guys back on the street?

........oh that's right.....Lee McClaflin told Beau not to talk about that.

    I see.

  14. Actually Anon, 8:57 (or should I say Mr.Gulyas?) Joel was given a warning about using that picture of Arnold Downing when he sent it to the papers. He disregarded the warning and sent it in the mailer. The Board of Elections made the decision to remove Arnold because Joel had been warned.
Beau HAS told audiences, reporters and in The Courier OP ED piece included his 10 months in private practice-again not 2 years.
Your lame excuses and lies won't fly here. Go back to the fat green monster's nasty site.

  15. First of all why is the only person "man" enough to put his name on his comments is Mr. Theobald? And why is the person throwing out general negative comments NOT putting their name on theirs?
I have seen Mr. Theobald's credentials ie: his badge ID and weapon, authorized by federal and state law.. I am assuming that had he been fired or left under negative circumstances as suggested, he would not qualify for any of these privileges.

I agree with many of the comments regarding politicians, I too have very little respect for them these days. I also would have maybe an ounce of respect for those who actually sign their name to their comments, like Mr. Theobald always does.

  16. We must hold our elected officials to a higher standard. This event is an embarrasment to our County and the Office of the State's Attorney.
We would be hard-pressed to find a more honest and fair man than Chief Downing and I am hopeful that his removal can be reversed.

  17. 8:57 why are you avoiding the issue and turning this around on Beau Oglesby?

    ReplyDelete
  18. For all we know 6:01, 8:06, & 8:57 could be Joel Todd. Due to how he's gone about doing things lately, it wouldn't surprise me.

  19. ok - let us get a few things straight here. mr. Theobald has been a dear friend of mine for over 20 years. He IS retired from one of the worst places in this country. A place where most of you anonymous cowards would not even drive past...he is a good man, leave him alone. Chief Downing is one of the most honorable men i know, and cannot and would not publicly endorse anyone. Joel ruined his election judge position for him by being sneaky and dishonest, NOT Beau....get your facts straight. Check into some public records, there is an attorney who has contributed heavily to Mr. Todd's campaign, and most cases Mr. Todd has had with said attorney have been Nolle Pros....hmmmm, lacking honesty and integrity is huge...no one wants a dishonest person in charge of putting criminals in jail....especially if their lawyer's wallet speaks louder than the law...and Beau may have done short term defense work, but so have most lawyers.....get over it people....Beau is very honorable and honest

  20. I am friends with Chief Downing and Oglesby had nothing to do with him being removed. Thats just an outright lie! There are several people on that mailer not happy about being on it. The truth will come out!!

So I'm wondering if the person that made this comment is the crooked attorney Charles Jannace since this is the same issue he brought in the Your View section of the Rag yesterday!

  22. OMG what desparation shown on the part of some of the candidates. Let's see we have Theobald being "fired", Mason being "investigated", McDermott also being "investigated" and Oglesby being "sued." What they all have in common is a big "R" behind their names.
I'm ready to vote straight "R" due to the tricks the "D's" continue to play. The county's not going to fall apart if the "R's" are running it and just like we have to do with children, it's time for punishment and some teaching of lessons.

  23. 7:53 AM,

I agree with you on this one. I have voted for my last Democrat. The majority of them are crooked and desperate to get elected. The last Democrat I crossed party lines to vote for was Jim Ireton and he fooled us all. I will never vote for anyone affiliated with The Party of Obama again!

  24. and if Bobby Brittingham has anything to do with it, no one but himself will be eligible for any canidate seat due to the terrible "HATCH ACT" that nearly ALL of them have been a part of, knowingly or not! Between newspapers, blogs, websites and tv commercials, almost everyone running for something has had their picture with someone in a law enforcement uniform...OH NO, Brittingham you better get on the phone and file those Hatch Act claims for investigations!
