Police Chief Duncan - Interesting Tidbit

From:http://www.mvinquirer.com/duncan.htm

"It was my dream to become Chief of Police for the City of Mount Vernon. I look forward to working with Mayor Young, Commissioner Chong, the Police Benevolent Association, the community, as well as my fellow officers to protect and strengthen our communities,” stated Chief Duncan.Chief Duncan resides in Yonkers with husband, retired Mount Vernon Captain Richard Duncan and six children.
(Local media reports  4 boys and 2 step children)

Appears we might be getting a 2 for 1 . . .just like Hillary & Bill!

  1. If it was her dream to be the chief of the Mount Vernon Police Department then why is she leaving that post after a short period of time.?

Either she can't handle the job or she is being run out of town.

And don't feed us this bull crap about her having family "locally."

  2. Just another outsider that is going to make things worse. Ivan Barkley should have been given the position plain and simple.

So who is this moron who thinks it is ok to hire an outsider for a high ranking position in the City of Salisbury? Let me guess Duncan herself or one of the clowns who still supports Mare Liarton!

  5. Just a thought but why would she uproot six kids and come to Salisbury for a job that means kissing the Mayor's butt and doing exactly as he says. Makes no sense. Sorry Salisbury, but the place isn't worth all that. Will she live in Salisbury and her children attend Wicomico County schools?

The answer is no! What department head lives in Salisbury now? None! Who would want to!

  7. Here is some food for thought Mayor liarton. If you were so high on Leatherbury why did you not try to work something out to obtain he and Barkley. I have worked for the last 18 years with both of these men. They both offer differant management styles. You have an education background. I am just astounded that you could not come up with a solution to this minor dilema. Two for the price of one.

In knowing both of these men i am sure they would have worked something out.

It is sad that your fear of a strong leader made you look outside the volume of great persons for the position your have right here. Your weakness and lack of moral support for your troops will not be forgotten.

I ask that you recall when the B.O.E. went with someone from Baltimore. It does not sit well when works for twenty years in an agency and has been loyal to get shafted. It also demoralizes the troops when you do not at least hear the concerns they have.

I guess if we all used your thinking we would have never voted you into office. Ironic isnt it.

  8. Like Webster she is retired and double dipping while having the city of Salisbury pay her relocation expenses so she can be closer to her roots. If her roots were so important to her why did she leave them? Just more of the same old crap spewed by the BS administration running this city. I think they revell in slapping the faces of the citizens and city employees. Once again they have proven they don't give a rats patoot what the citizens or employees want, they'll do as they damned well please, like it or not.

  9. Hey Y'all! Is your glass half empty or half full? I almost think you WANT Duncan to fail.

  10. Come on all! Lets give the gal a chance. Obviously what we have isn't working. I'm totally against Ireton but willing to see if she can make a difference before my house gets broken into in the middle of the night or my business gets robbed in broad daylight and someone gets hurt or killed.

  11. Yes...all of our problems are because of "outsiders"....what a laugh. To really have any true perspective you need to have been someplace else friends.

Salisbury and Wicomico have dug their own holes and the holes weren't dug by outsiders.

  12. Joe:

Please find out her salary up there and how much of a pay cut she will be taking to come here?

There is probably much that we are not being told that should be disclosed in the name of "transparency."

  13. Some days its the good ole boys ruining everything. Other days its all the outsiders coming here to ruin everything. Some days we need fresh blood to turn things around. Some days people not from here have no idea whatsoever how to run Salisbury. You people will complain about ANYTHING.

    Rob S

P.S. Not to mention those of you that have probably never lived anywhere else questioning the decision of another family to relocate. Why does it matter to any of you??? You don't need to know about her personal life or family life.

  14. Chief Barbara Duncan is a twenty-one year veteran of the City of Mount Vernon, New York, Police Department. She started her career as a sworn officer in January, 1989. In 1994 she was promoted to Sergeant, Lieutenant in 2003, Captain in 2006 and Chief of Department in 2008.

That isn't long enough for ya?

  15. She doesn't deserve a chance. That chance should be reserved for someone in house!

  16. her skeletons will come out soon

  17. The "house" hasn't shown any ability to be deserving of being chief. You want to be chief? Show some initiative and do you job without whining. If you can't support those above you, why should you be promoted?

You need more qualifications than simply being from here.

Sour grapes? You are prime example of people who are NOT qualified.
