MVA Lax On Suspending Driver’s Licenses, Auditors Find -- Along With Many Other Problems

Because of failures to review driving records, the Motor Vehicle Administration sometimes left drivers on the road who should have had their licenses suspended, state auditors found. The department also failed to fully investigate potential fraud issuing licenses among employees, and lacked proper control over information, according to a report released Wednesday by the Office of Legislative Audits.

  2. No doubt in my mind. Lot of drivers out there shouldn't be licensed to drive a bicycle let alone a motor vehicle.

  3. I have to see this report....Has anyone tried to get a new license in this state....it's unreal. Unopened bank statements, original SSN cards, passports, mail with your name and address on it, etc. Maybe I've been going to the wrong MVA office....

I doubt that it is that difficult. Go by the MVA in Salisbury and see how the facility is flooded with Mexicans!!

I don't think your argument is necessarily valid. The elected officials in Maryland don't run the day to day operations for MVA.

This is ANOTHER case of people having a government job, with government benefits and government pension who don't give a diddly about doing the JOB!
You won't see any heads roll over it though, wait and see. They all watch out for each other - that's why they all still have jobs and why it's easy to retire from a goverment job!

The last time I was at the MVA there were no Mexicans in there. I was in and out getting my license renewed in about 15 minutes. They passed a law in June of 09. Unless you can prove you are here legally they wont give you a license. I was also at the DMV in May of 09 and it was PACKED with people waiting to get to the window that only spoke Spanish. You do that math.
