Kissing Lesbian Couple Kicked Out Of Ravens Game

Today is National Coming Out Day. But at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, a recent Sunday was Kicking Out Day for one lesbian couple.

Nicole Marchetto and Mary Kate Morris bought some beer and fries during halftime while waiting for a long bathroom line to dissipate. While the couple waited for their order, the Washington Blade reports, the couple "engaged in what Marchetto characterized as 'casual kissing'." A security guard and supervisor told them to stop.

Since, as Marchetto put it, "numerous law-abiding straight couples" were doing the same thing, they ignored the order. "Straight couples were kissing all around us," Morris said, and no one was objecting. "As a matter of fact, some fans were not only approving but cheered us."

But after a third warning, the guard "demanded to see their driver's licenses, and then the women were told to leave the stadium immediately," according to the Blade.

The couple, of course, asked why.

The guard then said the women had stolen a plastic cup. They had taken a cup to use for ketchup for their fries, without incident. The guard then said they had stolen the beer. The Blade writes, "A Baltimore police officer intervened and told the guards the couple did not steal the beer. The couple has receipts for all the purchases. Nonetheless, they were forced out of the stadium by three police officers."

The Maryland Stadium Authority and the Baltimore Ravens are siding with the security guard.

  4. i hope 3:38 and 3:46 are being sarcastic.. according to the article there were numerous straight couples who were doing the same thing. its not a crime...

  6. BUt they will bring on a Law Suite with some ambulance chasing ACLU lawyer and get big money....

Its all about I can act ungodly in front of you as much as I want.

  7. Why is this such a big deal?? Get over it people. Have you looked at your calendar lately? It's 2010. The comments of 3:38 and 3:46 just show why the Eastern Shore is still considered backwards and small minded.

  8. I'm glad they got kicked out , maybe they should have been kicked also, bunch of freaks . Let em kiss the muslims.

  9. No more than straights are throwing it in your face as well by kissing in public. How about you rid yourself of a double standard and just tell everyone to stop making out in public.

    "Freaks"-lol What a bigot.

  10. It doesn't sound like they were doing anything to throw it in your face 3:38 they were just being a normal couple and engaging in normal behavior. Compared to the normal drunks yelling, cursing and fighting at NFL games I think their behavior is the least offensive.

  12. Since no one has the stones to use their real name, let me be the first to say, GOOD!

How dare they subject those who choOse these games as a family event and that goes for gay men or women!!!!!

I have no problem with gay couple having a relationship but once you start kissing in front of my family, I will not stand for it. I will not publicly accept this behavior and while we're at it I also do not believe in a man and woman kissing in public either.

I'll put up with a lot of crap with new generations but I draw the line on certain issues. If they want to make a scene by two womwn and or two men kissing in public, know there are many of us willing to stand up to this being absolutely wrong.

Again, at least I'm man enough to use my name. I have plenty of gay friends but gugess what, NOT ONE OF THEM would pull a stunt like this.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

  13. Go to any professional sports game(be it NBA, NFL, NHL, or MLB)...nobody gets a free cup. I've never gotten a free one, how about you? It doesn't happen. I have happened to work at a pro stadium(can't knock free games at 15$ an hour), and you never, ever, give out free cups from a vending stand.

I agree with you. I don't care who it is, if you want to "make out" do it in private. A simple kiss on the cheek or hug does not bother me. I dont want to see a gay couple kissing in public anymore than I do a straight couple.

  15. I agree with Joe about the idea that kissing in public--heterosexual or homosexual--is offensive. Some things are simply not suitalbe in public. (OK, call me a fuddy-duddy). On the other hand, our Constitution gives us the right to display affection in public, even if it offends some people. We can say all we want about not putting up with this sort of behavior, especially if we have young kids with us, but in reality we can do nothing about it. The security guard who ushered the two ladies out will probably be in big legal trouble.

  16. This feedback makes it look like we're all a bunch of redneck, back wood hicks.
Sometimes you need to just let it go.

  17. People, they admit to taking a cup. Sounds like not a big deal, but if you do that you will be kicked out. Very simple.

  18. If one of these babes took a dog to the game, would they kiss it too? Would it too be "appropriate" in their mind? Just how far would they go?

Sorry, it's queer to embrace public demonstrations of abnormal behavior at family events.

If you want to be comfortable in a queer environment, go to queer focused events and leave the rest of us out of it.

  19. There's obviously more to the story than the ladies are saying. They must have been causing a scene, because I highly doubt fans paying as much as they do for football tickets are going to spend time cheering on two lesbians "casually kissing." Sounds like they were in it for the attention from the start. And, I agree, no one gives you a free cup anywhere any more! You steel a cup, you're gone. Don't play the gay card.

  20. Has anyone here been to a professional sporting event that DID NOT take place at Perdue Stadium??? I've been to NFL games at 4 different stadiums across the country. Its a 90,000 person melting pot of different people who want to have a good time. If you want to spend your Sundays in a family setting where everyone thinks and does exactly what you want them to and no one will ever do anything that might offend you or your kids, go to church, not an NFL game. You don't have to like gays, you're allowed to think they are disgusting and gross if you want. But you don't get a say in how they live their life just as they don't in yours.

Just for you Joe I will sign my name.

  21. Thanks Rob, point well made. When this article was (re)printed in the Baltimore Sun last week most readers questioned the idea that "there were many other straight couples doing the same thing". I've had season tickets to the Ravens for 7 years and I have never made out with my wife or girlfriend while waiting in line for snacks and don't recall seeing anyone else. The article does not however clarify if the ladies in question were attractive.

    ReplyDelete
  22. if they were being cheered on, they were making a scene! If the scene appeared to be disruptive or obscene, then it is disorderly. Disorderly is against the law, end of story. Second, if the guy could be arrested for being in his own kitchen naked in the morning then two lesbians kissing can be ejected from a stadium for causing a scene!

  23. What I think this illustrates is this....most people (90 ---NINETY -- percent) are straight.... a great many of those 90% don't care if you are gay or not...but a great many of them still think that "gay" is unusual, strange, deviant, weird, immoral, evil, an abberation, a biological dead-end, all of the above, or a combination of the above. They DON'T want it "in their face" for what ever reason. Like just about everyone, I know and interact with gay people and have no problem...but I would not like to see two guys making out in the park, any more than I would like to see a guy in a thong and a pink boa prancing down the main street parade. People, for the most part, live and let live, but when you have a lifestyle that is contrary to the great (remember, 90%) majority's lifestyle, be it cross-dressing, masochism, transvestite, Satan worship, homosexuality, what-have-you, then accept the fact that some, sometimes many, people ain't gonna like it. Its the nature of the game. You can't force people to "like" you, or "accept" your behavior or lifestyle if they think its strange or wrong. If your behavior is offensive to most people, don't label them as "hicks" or "rednecks" or haters", label YOURSELF as "different" and someone with, perhaps, an agenda. Now, ....bring it.

  24. You conservatives sound like you have alot in common with the Taliban. I don't want to see gays kissing, but then again, I also hate hearing my neighbor pull in and out with her loud Harley in the morning/night. It's her right to do so, so while I don't like it, I'll put up with it. ANd I expect the same respect when I bump my music going down the road.

  25. extremist homosexuals trying to get attention and get rich off a law suit. Gays always talk about what goes in their bedroom is their business but now that's not enough they have to try and expose children to their perversion!

4:42 PM: Seems you're the one much more aligned with Islamic law than the lesbian couple - in some Islamic countries, homosexual behavior is a crime punishable by death. Sounds like a neighborhood you'd like.

  29. It is a good thing that the majority of posters to this story can'y and don't go west of the Bay bridge. It is a big world out there and if any of you had ever been to a major metropolitan area (not Salisbury) you would know that public displays of affection are common among couples of all types (mm ff mf). I'm willing to bet that your children have seen the same or worse on TV. Get over it. BTW, I'm a straight, married, catholic, republican that has learned to live and let live...it's not worth being stressed out about because you are powerless to change it.

  30. The above comments are precisely why I'll never vote Republican. Truly, the politics of hate and exclusion as opposed to Democrats politics of inclusion and compassion, as Jesus would have wanted.

Sometime Conservative's act like Muslim Extremist. If you don't like it, stone them. Why not just walk away if it bothers you.

  35. to 7:40, no not much in common with the taliban as they would have beheaded or stoned this "couple" immediately.
yes God created adam and eve not adam and steve. God loves these women just as much as He loves you and i; He just does not approve of their behavior. acctually He calls it an abomination. God also said we would see more of this in the "last days". we can chose to love the sinner and not the sin. this is a hard thing to do but since none of us are without sin we need to practice this.
i'm with joe on this; i don't like to see this behavior flaunted, especially in front of my children as it is abhorent and ungodly.

  36. Once again peole are reacting to a story without having all the facts. This is what lame newspapers do to get readers. Why all the different reason stated (kissing, stealing beer, stealing a cup). Of those, the title is "Kissing Lesbians...". I'm sure if anyone witnessed this, the truth as compared to what was written are very different.

As a Ravens season ticket holder, I have never seen any type of disturbance like this. I also don't condone lewd behavior by attention seeking people, either straight or gay.

    ReplyDelete
  37. What couples do behind closed doors is their business but don't bring it to a public event. I do not make a scene with my wife and expect the same from others straight or gay. Its obvious these
individuals were kissing to make a scene and being cheered on by a bunch of drunk men. I bet no women were cheering unless they too have had lesbian relationships. I was at
a party once with children in attendance where two women exposed their breast, they could have cared less that there were kids present.

  38. Whoa-the homophobes are out in ful force."Docent" that suprise you?
Gay or hetero,I think people need to rein it in when they are in public.I have been in a store and seen male/female couples groping each other,I mean crotch-grabbing and all,to the point that I wanted to turn a hose on them.Get a room!

    ReplyDelete
  39. To label people as "homophobes" because they think that homosexuality is wrong is an insult....1:30am had it right. Further, "homophobe" suggests people are somehow afraid of homosexuals. WRONG. They disagree (their right) with the lifestyle based upon religious and/or moral convictions. Homosexuals have no right to demand that others accept them and disregard their own convictions.
To label those won't/don't accept gays as "normal" as being "redneck" or "unenlightened" or somehow "not as intelligent as the rest of us" is insulting, disrespectful, disingenuous and holier-than-thou in it's own regard. Sometimes, things come down to propriety, class, discretion, and self-restraint. All of us --- ALL --- could practice more of them and the world would be a better place.
