Jobs At Ocean Downs?

Hey Joe,
Please look at the above link.  My husband and I are residents of Worcester Cty. and unemployed.  We were looking forward to Ocean Downs job opportunities.  According to this link Delaware Park must not think that the people of Worcester Cty. need jobs or maybe we are not intelligent enough since they are recruiting from Connecticut.

  1. Perhaps you should still go ... but might want to drop the attitude before hand.

  3. Perhaps they need experienced casino workers to get up and running. They're advertising where the experience is....Native American Casion territory. It's not a crime.

  5. Yeah, and they promised local jobs when the vote was needed. It's called buying support, and those that supported them for thier own benefit, not that of the community are now seeing what they got. You sleep with dogs you get flees.

  6. I think that they are looking for experienced techs and floor bosses that work at nearby mohegan sun and foxwoods (the largest casino in the US).

  7. Approximately 265 employees will be needed to staff the Ocean Enterprise 589 slots operation, with hiring for management positions expected to begin later this year, Rickman said.

“We expect that most of our team members—and many of our customers—will be from the local vicinity: Worcester County , Ocean City and Ocean Pines,” he said.

The approval for Ocean Enterprise 589 will add jobs at a time when jobs are needed and will benefit both the residents of Maryland and the state horse racing industry Rickman said.

  8. 11:25 Before you call me an idiot perhaps you should do a little homework ... Ocean Downs will be taking applications and doing preliminary interviews at the Job Fair 10/14 at the Center at Salisbury. I'm not interested in working at the casino but instead of complaining about things and blaming everybody else, I took the time to call them. Maybe I am an idiot ...
